"Jose and his team did a great job trimming our shrubs and cleaning up our yard. We hired them yesterday to do a monthly service and they came today. I appreciate Joseâ s sense of urgency to come the day after we agreed that he would do our yard monthly going forward. Our yard looks great and we had many over grown shrubs that they had to trim back. We look forward to doing business with Ever Green Landscaping.. Exceptional job today."

"In May 2017 we hired AZ NativeScapes to landscape our townhouse back yard, which was originally nothing but boring gravel. These photos were taken right after work was completed; the plants have grown a LOT since then, and now it's quite the paradise out there. Work included pavers on the patio and extended two feet past the concrete pad, a new paver walkway from the gate down to the driveway, a half wall to hide the trash cans (which blends in perfectly with the back wall - you'd never know it wasn't original), leveling and reshaping the yard, moving boulders to better locations, new gravel for the yard, an artificial turf area, new plantings, and an irrigation system. Quality of the work was fantastic, and Craig and his crew were so easy to deal with. They worked quickly and were done with everything in a couple of days. July 2022 update: the irrigation system started acting up - wasn't running the whole programmed time, then stopped turning on at all. Christian came out and did some troubleshooting to figure out the problem, then replaced the valve solenoid at no charge. How's that for service, five years after the original job! If you need any kind of landscaping done, AZ NativeScapes just has to be your first call. We love the work they did transforming our yard into a place we enjoy every day."

"Chris and his brother worked incredibly hard to complete repairing out older sprinkler system in our front yard. He answered our call right away, showed up on time, and stayed very late. Everything was cleaned up and now works perfectly. The job was much more involved than what we thought it would be also. We would highly recommend Chris to others and wish him the best going forward. Thanks Chris and Tomas!!"

Lawns questions, answered by experts

Skunk digging looks like a series of small, cone-shaped holes on a lawn or around the perimeter of a home, porch, deck, or shed. The holes that skunks dig when searching for grubs tend to be no more than four inches in diameter and may be up to four inches deep.

Digging a bush up by the roots is the most natural DIY method for removing a bush stump. Start by identifying the shrub type and revealing its roots. Cut the shrub to its base and loosen the soil, ensuring no utility lines are nearby. Optionally, treat the base with herbicide, then dig around the roots and cut a circle around the shrub using various tools. Dig a trench, cut the base of the root ball, and finally fill the hole to prevent regrowth. This thorough process ensures complete removal without damaging surrounding areas.

The fastest way to rid your yard of pesky stickers or burs is to go mechanical on them with a lawn mower or garden rake. Use a lawnmower with a bagger attachment to avoid spreading the seeds around and causing a bigger issue. If you choose to rake the stickers off the plants, be sure to dispose of them properly. Avoid putting them in with the composting and check local guidelines for disposing of lawn waste.

By definition, gardeners are experts at designing and maintaining outdoor gardens. Their job duties extend far beyond choosing the right plants for the area, which in itself is a job—they also help maintain the health and well-being of the plants. Gardeners work independently or for landscapers, nurseries, or horticulture design companies.

Yes, it's perfectly safe and environmentally sound to mulch leaves with a lawn mower, provided that the layer of leaves isn't too thick and the leaves are dry and crispy. Too many wet leaves get sticky and will clog the mower. Thick layers of leaves can suffocate the lawn after the leaves have been mulched, so the layer should be no more than six inches thick.
