Snap construction did awesome work on our home. We needed a variety of exterior repairs after storm damage. Dan was an effective communicator with us and our insurance company, and his crew completed the project in a timely manner.

  • Andrew Fuhrmann Screen Repair
    5.0
Andrew is wonderful! He's pleasant, professional and thorough. We needed to have a bolt replaced on our pool cage - it had rusted. Andrew looked at it carefully and determined that 3 actually needed replacing. In addition, he replaced 3 panels of screening, using no-see-um screening, as we had requested. He works quickly and efficiently and was done before we knew it. We have used his services previously and will continue to do so. We think he's terrific

Andrew is professional and thorough. I asked him to look at screens that had holes; he also noticed screens that weren't attached to the supports and missing bolts. He took care of all of it - even re-anchored a support cable that came loose due to a rusted support piece. He knows what he's doing and doesn't waste time. He is also very pleasant to chat with. We highly recommend him

I had an insurance claim over the summer after the hail storm; State Farm contracted Bayport to do the work, fixing the roof and some screens that were damaged at my home in Saint Paul. The sales rep Jake Hanson was very professional and worked with me with all my concerns, and the crew did good work. I would definitely work with them again :

  • Screen Medic

Every step of the process went smoothly and the project got finished almost two weeks ahead of time. They knew their product and helped us to make good choices to update our 30 year-old screen porch. Now it has expansive views, easier maintenance and screens should withstand our black lab’s claws. Per our request, they did the tear down on a Friday afternoon, gave us the weekend to do any needed painting, and they completed the install the following Monday morning. Very much appreciated this accommodation

Screen medic is awesome! I was amazed how they were able to take off our old screens (which were stuck to the window frames), build new ones right on site, and replace them within an hour or two! We're so happy to have new beautiful screens that are now easy to take off for cleaning. Very reasonable pricing, too. Couldn't be happier with this company

Dan showed up early for the appointment after he called first and let us know he was going to be a little early.....very thoughtful. We had two oversize screens that needed to be replaced and he did the work fast and very well....the new screens look great! They match the other window screens perfectly (important to my wife) Great Job!! We had a little problem with the charge total amount vs what was quoted me on the phone when I made the appointment. I called Screen Medic after the tech had finished and left and talked to them about the pricing discrepancy and they said no problem at all....they would refund the difference and honor the price quoted me. No hassle....no BS....just great customer service. It is SOOO pleasurable for me when I find a company that does quality work, is punctual, and is also ethical and honest! I would give them 10 stars if I could. I wholeheartedly recommend Screen Medic to everyone that needs screen work done. I certainly will use them for any and all screen issues in the future

Snap construction was very interested in repairing the Hail damage and were out to check things out when the insurance adjuster was here so both Snap and insurance company were informed on what needed to be done. The service from snap was excellent an they pretty much went to work all I had to do is pick out the singles. They did find some rotting to some roofing boards on the house roof because a vent was not connect to the outside, they fixed that vent and put some new roof boards on. Because of this I did owe for them over and above my insurance deductible. I was glad to have it all in good condition for the future. Chris kept me well informed on what was happening and was always happy to answer my questions

  • Beissel Windows & Siding Co

The process to find a contractor to do all the work above is tedious. With doors and windows, there are so many contractors and brands that it quickly seemed overwhelming. Brad from Beissel came to our house and walked us through all the options they provide (which is a lot) and helped us narrow our choices down to three types of windows in different price ranges. We went to their showroom and after playing with the windows and doors (this is really important when selecting windows and doors, because there are small, but noticeable differences), we selected the more expensive Sunrise Windows and Target Door. After spending a Fall, Winter and Spring with them, I love these items. I never felt a draft all winter and now that it's warmer, I also don't feel heat coming through the windows. The only issue we had was some condensation on the windows on really cold days and my guess is that the humidity is too high in my house and my blinds are too insulating. We had this problem with the old windows too, but I was hoping that would go away. I love the fact that I can clean the windows from the inside and we have half screens, so I can get a clear view in the top window or easily remove the screens in the winter. We played with both full and half screens in the showroom before deciding on that option. Again, testing out the windows is really important. We also looked and Andersen Windows--who also have a showroom--but really liked the Sunrise Windows better for the little details and the greater view they provide. If you want a wood look on the inside, the Andersen Windows would probably be a better choice, but we had off-white vinyl before and like the look better with our white interior trim. Also, the Sunrise Windows were a couple thousand dollars cheaper. Finally, Andersen only does windows and really expensive doors; whereas Beissel was able to do the gutters and trim as well. In the end, it was a clear choice. Brad was great to work with and helped us with color choices for all the work. I appreciated that he has been in the business a long time, was previously an installer, and provided his opinion based upon his experience. I honestly felt he was trying to do what was best for us rather than trying to upsell us on everything. The guys that came and did the work were very fast and professional. The windows, doors, and trim were done in two days, and most of that time was fixing the rotting wood behind all 17 windows, which we appreciated (but did add $1,000 to the final cost). Brad said they could do all the work without removing the interior trim, but they did have to remove some pieces. With 80 years of paint on them, they chipped or cracked a few pieces when removing them, but for the most part, they still look intact and we'll just need to fill in some gaps and repaint at some point this summer. Andersen didn't offer a minimal touch solution, so I assume their installation would have wreaked more havoc on our trim. The gutters and gutter screens look great and do a great job of removing water away from my house. Thus far, I've had no water in my basement. Beware of the gutter covers though. For our house, they cost $300, but what we got was different than what I saw in the showroom. The ones I saw in the showroom were durable looking, metal screens--which I assumed I would be getting--but the ones they put on our gutters are a flexible, coated metal, probably aluminum. They look like something I could have bought at Home Depot for $50 and installed myself, so I was a little miffed at how much they cost, but in the overall scheme of things, it was a minor cost, and I was glad to have someone do it. To be fair, I have bought metal screens from Home Depot in the past and these look better than those. Also, Brad never showed my the covers we were buying, so I made an assumption on what I was getting. Brad highly recommended them and they do seem to be effective and you can barely see them from the ground level, which is nice. Just ask for a sample so you know what you will be getting. If you can get these covers, you might be able to install them yourself. Overall, I would highly recommend both Beissel and Brad. I felt they provided great service and great products and would do business with them again
