"Not well, we came in from California to see the work that was to start on our retirement home, after visiting the home and quoting us a price with Tom we set a start date for April 1, 2025. The first day after about 1-1/2 hrs Tom was ready to give up due to how hard it was to remove the existing concrete under the wood floor. I told him I would find help so he wouldn’t leave. I paid 2 guys $300 to demo the concrete for Tom. He tried to even out the concrete with 60 minute mud but it was still uneven, but he still laid the floor over this uneven surface. (We were not at the home during the install process, we just stopped in her and there. Fast forward to July 2, 2025, we drove in from California as we are now semi retired and saw that some of the floor planks were uneven or popping up. I called Tom to stop by and take care of this and the soonest he could be here was 2 weeks later, July 25, 2025 Friday afternoon. When he arrived he removed the areas of concern and floated the floor again, I expressed my concern because the mud did not look even again. He assured me he would level it out. When the flooring was reinstalled that Saturday afternoon July 26, after he left and we walked on the floor there were 4 areas that were lifting again. We sent him pictures and my wife called him and left a message that he needed to return and fix the problem. It is now 3 days later and we have not heard from him. Tom needs to return some money to us so we can get another contractor out to repair what he cannot fix and money for new material if needed. I hope this does not escalate to a small claims court matter. But we paid for a floor that has not been properly installed. We just want it fixed. As part of the agreement he was to have a helper ( no helper ever came) and clean up daily and haul away the all trash. My wife and I in an effort to help, did all the clean up daily and paid $300 to guy to haul away all the trash."
