"Dave and Allison were great to work with. They were knowledgeable when they came to my home and gave great advice when helping me choose color and the work they would do. "Our 7 yr. old carpeting needed to be re stretched. I Googled and found '616', as it's close to us. Very personable and professional. Very thorough. They explained the process well. We had them clean the carpeting as well. My husband and I are beyond happy with the re stretching job. The huge ripples are gone. The carpet looks as good as new now, thanks to them. We are VERY satisfied. Thank you '616'!! You saved the day! Diane C. Brooklyn, OH"

"He was very professional and does excellent work. I had a floor repair and before I could go and pick up supplies for the repair they had already repaired the floor before I returned. They removed the old carpet, repaired the floor, moved the furniture, installed new carpet and cleaned up before moving on to the next room. When I saw them vacuuming the first room before starting on the second room I knew I would forever use this company for all future carpet installations. The added plus was that they were inexpensive too! Thanks again"

"You can't find a better contractor for flooring. I had a complicated move in schedule to my new home and Dustin was incredibly accomodating and split the job into two parts. He keeps the job site incredibly clean and free of dust and also put differents satins on the floor for me to choose from so I could see what the finished product could look like. I have recommended him to another friend who hired him and also had outstanding results. Highly recommend."

Flooring Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, carpeted stairs are generally considered safer than stairs with hard surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile. Carpet provides more traction and friction, which helps reduce the chances of slips and falls. Additionally, if a fall does occur, carpet offers more cushioning, which can lessen the severity of an injury. While hard surfaces can look great, they are often more slippery. However, it's worth noting that some carpets, especially if they are new, dirty, or have a slick texture, can also pose a slipping hazard. To improve safety on any type of stair surface, you can add traction treads to increase grip.

Laminate is a sturdy material that lasts 15 to 25 years if it’s properly maintained and isn’t damaged. Laminate with a higher AC rating lasts longer than laminate with a lower AC rating. For the most longevity, put laminate with an AC1 rating in low-traffic areas and use laminate with an AC3 or AC4 rating in high-traffic areas like entryways.

Popular flooring types for villas include tile, engineered hardwood, laminate, and vinyl. Tiles are often made of ceramic, terra cotta, or porcelain. The flooring you choose for your villa depends on your budget, the room, and the style you prefer.

Squeaking floors don’t usually pose an immediate safety risk. It can be the result of normal settlement, changes in humidity, or natural wear. Uneven or warped floors do pose a trip risk, so you should call a pro for a repair. This is especially true if you notice visible signs of rot or deterioration. Rarely, a creaking floor can signal structural issues, but there are usually other signs.

No, when done correctly, removing the tile shouldn’t damage the subfloor. However, if there was pre-existing damage to the subfloor from standard use or lack of maintenance, the subfloor may need repairs. For example, if the contractors notice mold growth on the subfloor or an uneven surface, you may need more extensive services before installing new tile.

If you DIY tile removal, remove the tiles one step at a time, individually removing the tile, grout, and mortar to prevent unnecessarily damaging the subfloor. Depending on the age of your home, consider having a professional inspect the subfloor to ensure it’s in good enough condition to lay new tile.
