"Michael came on time, fixed the leak quickly and competently. Also provided honest advice on some potential additional projects. I will be happy to use their services again. Good price too. Costs way, way better than Roto-Rooter services."

Customers say: Super punctual

"After noticing a leak in the bathroom, I called Jack L Woods plumbing first thing at 8 AM and was also my FIRST call based on the number of positive reviews ,years of experience and number of employees they have hoping that they can come fix the leak the day prior to Thanksgiving day. They were phenomenal, being solidly booked that day, they managed to send Tom F. who was closed by and was able to fix the issue and saved the day. Tom F. was very courteous and professional and was not only knowledgeable but explained in details what he is going to do and done. With this great experience and taking care of the issue the same day, I am joining all those who attest that Jack L woods plumbing is going to be our company of choice for all future plumbing ! Thank you."

"The water company said that the entire meter well needed to be dug up and replaced to repair the leak. Several estimates for that were $2000-$4000. Amanda Plumbing found out from the water company that they could just replace the pipes in the meter well without excavation. However, in the end, the entire problem was resolved by just replacing a couple of gaskets. As President of the HOA, I was extremely happy with their solution and will definitely call them for any future plumbing needs."

"Repaired water leak just outside the meter. Difficult issues included irrigation, drain, and gas line all in very close proximity to the trench area. Hand-dug much of the trench due to those issues. Leak repaired properly in a quick and timely manner."

"They found a replacement part very quickly. The main faucet in the bathroom is leaking so they fix it. They fix another valve wich is leaking a bit. The price is reasonable. The handyman is very competent. Over all I'm very satisfied."

"I spoke to Jim on the phone this morning about a refrigerator leak. He arrived at our house less than an hour later and figured out the problem quickly - a leak in the tubing leading to the ice maker. He left briefly to pick up the needed parts and came right back to fix everything. The only thing which needed to be changed was the tubing, but I asked for the valve to be replaced as well, which he did. I am very happy with the work Jim did.

"We looked him up and called him to see when he would be available to come look at our plumbing issue. He made himself available the same day and was here within 30 minutes. He was very professional and quick with finding the issue. He gave us advice to prevent future blockages (a print out) and suggested products to us. We highly recommend his work!"

Leak Detection FAQs

Yes, most states require plumbers to be licensed, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed plumber could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.

As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:

  • The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check

  • Required to have applicable state and local licenses

  • Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review

  • Paying to advertise their services

  • Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi

Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.

Before finding the right plumber for your job, there are a few questions that you should ask, including:

  • Are you licensed and insured?

  • Do you charge for estimates?

  • Is your fee a flat rate, or is it hourly?

  • Who will do the work? Are they all licensed and qualified plumbers?

  • What happens if any breaks or damages occur?

  • What is your response time in an emergency?

  • Is cleanup included in the quote?

  • Do your services come with a guarantee?

Discussing these questions with your plumbing contractor will help eliminate future issues and clarify expectations.

Before your plumber pays you a visit, it’s a good idea to clean up any boxes, garbage, or other obstacles that could be in their way. In addition, it’s best practice to clean the area that needs to be inspected or worked on, like a toilet, for example. Make sure to keep kids and pets out of the way once the plumber arrives.

Typically, plumbing repairs cost about $325 per job but can range from $175 to $4,000 or more. Simple fixes, such as a toilet repair, will be less expensive at around $150 to $400. However, if you have a pipe that has burst, you can expect to pay between $1,000 and $4,000 or more.

The project that needs to be completed, the size of your home, and the type of plumbing pipes you have can all impact the final cost. External factors such as supply chain issues and shortage of materials all play a part in how much this repair might be.

The average cost to hire a plumber is around $100 an hour but can vary between $45 and $200 an hour depending on the plumber’s experience and the repair that you need. It’s also important to note that these prices can go up on holidays, and emergency plumber rates average $150 per hour, in addition to a flat-rate trip fee of $100 to $350
