"We loved working with Mark. He was honest and timely and communicated well with us and provided suggestions whenever we wanted or needed them but let us drive the design process when we wanted to. His bid was quite accurate with additional costs due to upgrades that we chose and a few things we couldn't know ahead of time would be needed. We had an egress window installed which is not part of his services but once we found the company, he worked with them on the timing. (Note that the installation of the window is not included in the cost I list for the job on this review because it was not part of his bid.) We highly recommend Mark and would definitely use him again."

Customers say: Super punctual

"Couldn't be happier with Fulmer tile.  Had some sticker shock after pricing out the local design stores.  Fulmer tile advised us to purchase our own tile from whatever source we wanted and they would install.  Total job with labor and materials came to about 1/4 of what the design stores quoted.
Excellent quality work.  Project took about 1 day with a few extra hours on the second day to caulk.
I can't recommend Fulmer tile enough.

"Their work was excellent and timely. They were considerate of my needs in terms of timing and cost. Tony, the owner and craftsman, was personable and a an extremely careful craftsman. Andrea, Tony's wife and co-owner, is the office manager. She has a wonderful personality and was very helpful. The sales manager, Kasey, was a very good communicator and timely. He's a trained artist so was also helpful in design decisions. I love the quartz counter and tile backsplash. They also installed a new wood floor and did an excellent job."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

To make a bathroom look bigger, choose light-colored, medium- to large-format tiles. Light colors such as white, cream, or light gray make a space feel more open, while dark colors, busy patterns, and small tiles can make a bathroom feel smaller. It may seem counterintuitive, but small tiles can shrink a room visually due to the increased number of grout lines. Using medium- to large-format tiles creates a more seamless look. For the best effect, pair your light-colored tiles with a matching or similarly colored grout. This minimizes the grid-like pattern and gives the floor and walls a more continuous, uninterrupted appearance, helping the room feel significantly larger.

Ideally, you should remove tile before installing hardwood floors, but there are good reasons not to. Removing stubborn tile can be a labor-intensive job that adds days to the project. The subfloor beneath the tiles could also be damaged during the process, meaning you’d have to repair the subfloor before installing the new hardwood floor.

Larger tiles can be difficult to install because they’re heavier and bulkier than their smaller counterparts, which makes them harder to haul around and put in place. Plus, if you don’t install the tiles correctly, they could crack or break. For these reasons, it’s best to hire a professional for large-format tile installation.

Solvents dissolve tile adhesive, but the right solvent for the job depends on what type of adhesive you are trying to remove. For instance, dispersion adhesive requires stronger removers, like bile soap or even paint stripper, but some adhesives, like cement-based products, can come off with water and soap or mortar remover.

The lifespan of tile flooring can vary significantly based on the material and maintenance. Generally, tile flooring can last anywhere from 10 to 30 years, but high-quality, well-maintained ceramic tile can last 75 to 100 years. To achieve a longer lifespan, you should clean the tiles and grout regularly, reseal the grout annually, keep the floor dry, and avoid placing extremely heavy items on it to prevent cracking. Choosing a high-quality tile (Grade 1) will also contribute to its longevity.
