"In the recent past, a friend of my daughter spilled an unknown substance on her carseat staining the leather. My wife, doing her best Lady MacBeth impersonation (OUT **** SPOT!) cleaned/stripped the coating off of the seat down to bare leather leaving a spot much worse than the original stain. She found Mr. Schoenherr, and Fibrenew on the internet and arranged an appointment. I was sceptical at first, wondering who he was, what credentials, etc. <br> <br>Mr. Schoenherr arrived very much on time, assessed the damage, and said with quiet confidence,&nbsp;that he could repair the leather. He gave an estimate of the time required (1-2 hours). He finished the job early, and the match was incredible. You would have to be told there was a repair done to notice it. The craftsmanship was obvious. <br> <br>If it is not apparent from the review, he came to our home. While $150 might seem expensive, one has to consider he came to us, has to pay franchise fees, has inventory, etc. I think the value provided in his services is well worth the expense; try to do what he did, even half as well, and see what it costs you in time, materials, and aggravation. "<br /> Our cat threw up in two places on our antique carved oak banquet table. The acid ate into the surface so the table top and 8 leaves all had to be refinished. The table is probably 150 years old, at least. It has always been waxed, so there was that residue in the surface and in the carving that borders the circumference of the table. It needed an experienced artist and craftsman to not change the integrity of the piece. I stopped at the shop and explained my problem. I asked if Jeff could come to our house, 25 miles away and examine the damage and give us an estimate. He drove up in a snow storm in the evening after I'd offered to reschedule! Two days later, he emailed me an estimate and we agreed on the price and timing as this was a rather large project. Plus two of the leaves were not carved, merely spares. First Jeff found a qualified craftsman to laser-rout these unfinished leaves and make sure they matched. Then he lightly sanded and refinished the table top. I thought it needed to be a little darker with some red tones - although through the years the table and twelve high-backed chairs have acquired a few color changes so matching all that is almost impossible without refinishing everything which would have been prohibitive. So, Jeff was trying to match the color of the top and leaves with the carved base and chairs which he did not have. He asked that I bring in the chair that matched the table base closest. Then he suggested giving the carved border a subtle, darker color to match the base and pull it all together. This was perfect. <br /> He really did a wonderful and professional job that enhanced the value of this beautiful carved oak banquet table and chairs. He finished the surface so that now should the cat repeat his behavior, the table will be saved. I couldn't be more grateful!show more

"<strong>***IMPORTANT***</strong> When you invest thousands of dollars in a piano, I highly recommend any consumer do their homework.&nbsp; It took me 8 months to find the right company and my research paid off.&nbsp; The following review reflects my efforts in locating Lindeblad Piano and total satisfaction since then. <br /> <br /> <strong>It was critically important that I find a business that:<br /> </strong> <ol> <ol> <li><strong>Has been in business for a long time and Better Business Bureau approved</strong>. A family-owned business for 80+ years with a BBB rating of A+ told me they had experience and gave me peace of mind.&nbsp; This increased my comfort level&nbsp;in dealing with a business more than 200 miles from my home. </li> <li><strong>Stands behind ALL their work</strong> - While warranties can vary cases by case (usually 10 years) I received a 20 year warranty on all workmanship and parts, which was better than I expected.&nbsp; They also met a competitors' 10-year warranty on the soundboard.&nbsp; FYI Steinway only gives you 5 years on a <em>new</em> piano.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Restores Steinways</strong> - I plan on keeping this piano for decades and I wanted to make sure they knew what they were doing with such a high-end instrument.&nbsp; Of the 120+&nbsp; pianos restored last year, more 75% were Steinways.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Could answer tough questions</strong>. During my&nbsp;8 months of investigating piano retailers and restorers, I spent a half day at a Steinway dealer in Boston to hear their argument of why I should <em>not</em> buy a restored piano.&nbsp; I did expect a hard sell for a new piano but some of their points and literature were compelling.&nbsp; Aside from using the Steinway parts, they said that setting the bridge height is the most difficult and requires the elite expertise of a Steinway restoration technician. When I asked if I had a Steinway that I wanted restored, they said only the Steinway factory was qualified to restore a Steinway.&nbsp;&nbsp;Lindeblad patiently answered ALL my questions. Additionally, the Lindeblad business is in its&nbsp; 4th generation with the original founder a former builder at the NY Steinway factory. He passed down this craftsmanship (including authentic Steinway parts and the proper bridge technique) to his family. </li> <li><strong>Pleasant to work with and accessible</strong>. To be frank, I wanted a company that appreciated my business.&nbsp; This means that if I had a problem, I&nbsp;could get a hold of someone and have my problem resolved quickly. Ultimately, I found that Lindeblad met and exceeded expectations.&nbsp; The end-to-end process at Lindeblad is a model that all businesses should aspire to - from the sale, planning, restoration process, to the photos of the finished product and delivery, they wanted to make sure I was completely happy - not just satisfied - with everything.&nbsp; Each member of the family had their own skills and it was a pleasure to work with each of them.</li> <li></li> </ol> </ol> If you're in th market for a piano - at any price - I know you'd be happy with their work and service.&nbsp; However,&nbsp;my opinion is less important than your peace of mind.
