"My wife and I recently relocated from another state and had some extra money to invest in our new home, so we decided to partially finish our basement. While searching Google for basement remodeling services, we found two options. One was a company specializing solely in basement remodeling, but after scheduling a consultation, I quickly realized it wasn’t the right fit—every little detail came with an added cost, and there were too many unexpected “oh, by the way” expenses. Around the same time, we reached out to American Home Remodeling while gathering quotes. Nick met me at the house, and I walked him through the space, explained our vision, and shared our budget. From the start, he was straightforward and even suggested a few alternative approaches that, while slightly increasing our upfront cost, would ultimately save us time, money, and maximize the space. After reviewing their proposal, we signed a contract and moved forward with the project. What I appreciated most was how well-organized and efficient the entire process was—each step had a purpose and was completed on schedule. Permits were approved faster than expected, and construction began just before Thanksgiving. Since we were hosting family for the holiday, Scott and Nick were thoughtful enough to coordinate the dumpster’s arrival so it wouldn’t be an eyesore for our guests. Once the holiday passed, work resumed seamlessly. The project progressed smoothly—plumbing was completed on time, followed by framing, electrical, drywall/paint, flooring, and carpentry. Every contractor assigned to the job was professional, punctual, and knowledgeable, always available to answer my questions if Scott or Nick weren’t present. I was never left wondering what if—a few times, I had ideas mid-project, and Nick always provided his professional opinion before executing them flawlessly. The entire project lasted about three months, though it likely would have been completed sooner if not for the holiday season. Regardless, everything was strategically planned and executed on time. From a financial standpoint, the payment structure was transparent, with a clear breakdown of what percentage was due and when, based on project milestones. Scott would send a simple notification when a payment was due, but work continued without delay—even before payments were received. There was never any pressure, just a well-managed and trustworthy process. Fortunately, we had the funds and stayed on schedule with our payments. Prior to the basement project, we had already taken on a few other home improvements, including painting the interior and closing off a wall to add closet space. We hired another company for that work, but in hindsight, I wish we had discovered American Home Remodeling sooner to handle those projects as well. Overall, we had a fantastic experience with American Home Remodeling. Their professionalism, organization, and expertise made this project stress-free, and we couldn't be happier with the results. Him and his team went above and beyond to clear out all of the debris in the basement, fully cleaned the basement, and applied mold remediation to the wooden beams. They also fully rebuilt our stairs and removed and replaced our egress window. Thank you so much Joe and team!"

When I called the company, I reached Gordon directly, and he was able to stop by the next morning, right at the time we scheduled. He was very helpful in explaining what I was seeing. "I owned a house that hadnà ¢à  à  t been renovated in 40 years. The plan was to knock down wall, update 2.5 bathrooms, change the kitchen layout. New floors cabinets, countertops & we painted all walls. We also added ceiling fans in all bedrooms & added recessed lights in the living room & dining room. I couldnà ¢à  à  t be more pleased with the outcome. I have since moved and I use Tyler for all of my projects."

"We signed a contract April 25th 2024 for them to do our roof, windows, siding. We constantly were calling them for a start date! Finally in September they came and did our roof. The flashing around the chimney was awful! Mike claimed it was not complete when we complained. He sent another guy to fix it. HE CUT INTO OUR NATURAL FIELDSTONE! IT looked like a 10 yr old did it! We called a chimney expert and they came and took off that ugly flashing that would have leaked! He fixed it as best as he could. They lie! I have contradicting emails regarding when windows were ordered etc. Never even showed us the windows they were putting in! Needless to say we canceled with them! Not letting them touch my house! They never call back! Very arrogant attitudes! First pictures added so you can avoid this agony! They owe us 2k for the repair we had to do, since theirs was so bad, we didn't dare let them touch it again! Guess we will have to take them to small claims court!"

"Matrix Basements used a bait-and-switch tactic on us. Their rep, Christopher Powers, promised a detailed ceiling paint job?including cleaning debris, taping off areas, and handling wiring. Based on that, we signed a contract. But during the plan review, the project manager said none of that was included and even claimed he?d never heard of it. We were told Matrix doesn't clean, doesn?t tape, and won?t touch any wiring. We'd have to prep everything ourselves?or live with overspray and debris being painted over. I asked to cancel the contract, but Matrix stopped responding. Now we?re stuck with an open contract, out a down payment, and no work done. They won?t reply or resolve it. Avoid Matrix Basements if you want honest, reliable service."
