Of course, there are some ordinary weather hangups, but other than that, no problems. The concrete was 5 inches thick with the Approach being 7" thick per city code. It was sealed with an acrylic sealer and another sealer will be put on by the company in a month or two. The price included all gravel and materials. The course gravel was an astounding 3 feet deep because of the amount of clay that had to be dug out--a lot. This had to be done for proper drainage which is always a concern unless you like water in places where it should not be. Driveway was angled and sloped appropriately also. Control joints and broom finish were perfect. Steel rods were used on this driveway also. Ok to walk on the next day, but vehicles had to stay off for about 5 days. Other companies may cut some corners, but really, you get what you pay for, and when doing a big project like this, I wanted it to turn out right the first time. This was done on my rental property. I recently observed last week that some concrete driveway work was being done across the street on new construction where I live, and it was not nearly as well done. They pretty much ignored the clay, and I think that is a mistake. People were driving on it the next day and I wouldn't be surprised if they end up with a drainage problem due to the clay. A construction company tried to fill in a low area by dumping dirt on it while ignoring the elephant in the living room--the clay area. Guess what...today I see they have a new little lake there--no actually it's quite a large pond. I'd say it's going to need a culvert. Yes I would recommend The Concrete Company from Stoughton, WI. [Note there is another company called "Concrete Company" (no "The" in the name) which I am not familiar with and have done no work with them. ] "},"url":"https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/wi/madison/the-concrete-co-reviews-378062.htm"},"position":5},{"@type":"ListItem","item":{"@type":"LocalBusiness","name":"D&M Concrete Co Inc","address":{"@type":"PostalAddress","addressRegion":"WI","addressCountry":"US"},"review":{"@type":"Review","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Vada M."},"reviewBody":"The work was postponed a couple of times because of weather, but I was always notified in plenty of time. On the day of installation, Dan arrived with the work supervisors early in the morning to make sure that the project would go as I envisioned it. He even suggested that they add two feet to the side extension (at no additional cost to me) so that I would be sure to have room for parking an additional car. Then the work crew arrived, and they were amazing in how quickly and professionally they removed the old asphalt driveway. I was concerned that they would damage the brick on the house which abuts the driveway, but they were careful not to. They spent time preparing the base and installing rebar according to specifications. The work crew were very helpful in consulting with me on questions they had about the design and suggestions they made about curving the outer edge. When the concrete trucks arrived, so did many more crew members who worked quickly and professionally to fill the forms and smooth and finish the surface. It was incredible to watch them work. After the concrete cured, I was concerned about a gap between the driveway and the brick of the house, so Dan sent out one of the crew to caulk and fill the gap (again at no additional cost to me). At Dan's recommendation I had the driveway sealed in the fall, and the driveway weathered the harsh winter with no deterioration of any kind. I appreciated the professional way all work was done and all the free upgrades that they provided. I did choose the include upgrades such as a thicker layer of cement and more closely spaced rebar. I would recommend them without reservation (and have to friends and to people who have stopped by to ask who did the work). I especially did not enjoy paying so far in advanced. Once they started, a delay occurred with completing the driveway as the company did not get the necessary permission from the street department of Madison. To be fair, apparently this was a new requirement of the city. However, because of this, we had our driveway unusable for several days longer than needed. However, the work done was excellent!! They did a superb job of regrading the driveway so it slopes away from the house. They did a great job of laying the sod and replacing the brick pavers around the landscaping. He wasn't able to fix my driveway because he didn't have the equipment. He asked me for the money and I mistakenly gave it to him upfront to have the job done and that was the last time I saw him. He also told me that I was being unreasonable about having the job done right. He spent about 4 or 5 months trying to work on the driveway, when I ended up recently having it done in 2 days. "they did good work, took only 2 days to scrape the gravel part of the driveway to widen it and then to lay the asphalt. The only problem I had was that the materials that were scraped up, gravel/grass was left in a pile at the end of my front yard and they never came to clean it up, despite being called numerous times and being told they would come and pick it up. 2 months later and they have never shown up to clean it up so now I have to figure out how to remove it from my yared before the town starts complaining and I end up getting fined. They defiintely need to stand by what they say the will do and follow through"

FAQs for gravel driveway repair projects in Monona, WI
The average cost of a gravel driveway is about $1.25 to $2 per square foot, including the cost of materials, equipment, and professional installation. For example, a 16-by-30-foot driveway costs about $1,500. Cost factors include the type of gravel, how thick the gravel is installed, the condition of the landscape, and labor costs. Overall costs will vary depending on where you live and how accessible the job site is.
Concrete can crack from general wear, improper installation, or in response to uneven support from the soil underneath. Small, thin cracks on the surface of aging concrete are usually a result of normal wear and tear, while cracks on new concrete more likely indicate a problem with installation. Larger cracks or uneven steps can signify a much more severe issue. A concrete contractor should be able to diagnose the cause and repair concrete cracks for you.
The cost to install a concrete driveway is $4 to $15per square foot on average. Your price heavily depends on your desired concrete finish and driveway size.
For a driveway that is 200 square feet, you can expect to pay an average cost of $1,900. For a driveway at double that size (400 square feet), the average price is closer to $3,800. Plain concrete is significantly more cost-effective, averaging $7 per square foot, whereas stained concrete averages around $19 per square foot.
The cost of resurfacing concrete is $6 per square foot on average, though that cost can range from $3 to $9per square foot.
For a driveway that is 200 square feet, you can expect to pay $600 to $1,800, and for a driveway that is 500 square feet, that cost averages $1,500 to $4,500. Resurfacing your driveway will give you the look and feel of a new surface without the hefty cost.
A gravel driveway should be at least 4 to 6 inches deep, depending on the soil it’s installed on. Softer soil that doesn’t drain well should have a deeper gravel driveway. Deeper gravel will mean you spend more on materials and labor, but you’ll get a more stable driveway and avoid damage that needs to be filled or graded flat again.
