"We could not be any happier with the job that Daniel and his crew did on our wall replacement on Lac Labelle absolutely a beautiful job. Always on time got the job done quickly and professionally. That was last summer, and now they built a beautiful above ground wood planting bed, again there craftsmanship and timely response to getting the job done was remarkable. Do not hesitate to hire Daniel and his crew to do your job, you will not be sorry you did."

"Overall, Daniel did a good job with my project. He did most of the things that I requested, but when it came to the minute details and finishing off the project is when I had some issues. Over-committing and under-performing was basically how he operates. He over-commits to things he can get done, but lacks the follow through or communication for completing the tasks. The only way for future prospects to ensure that all the work gets done is making sure that you do not pay the full amount until all the work gets done. I made that mistake, and he never came back, albeit small tasks, after I paid him. Lesson learned on my part. He still did a good job of what he did."

Fountains questions, answered by experts

While they’re popular and have a lot of pros, the cons of river rocks include the following:

  • River rocks don’t break down or provide nutrients to plants.

  • These stones can get hot and scorch nearby plants.

  • River stones may heat the surrounding soil to inhospitable temperatures.

  • Rocks can block rainwater from seeping into the ground if installations are too thick or tightly packed.

Most downsides occur when using river rock as mulch in gardens and flower beds. However, you can still incorporate river rocks into your landscape as long as you use them in the correct ways.

Costs depend on design, materials, plumbing, labor, and optional lighting or filtration features.

In short, yes, a pond can add to your home’s value. However, whether it adds value will depend on the condition and aesthetic of your pond. Having this feature already built into a yard’s home can be appealing to homebuyers who value its aesthetic and would prefer not to build it themselves. But if it is not kept in good condition, it could turn buyers away.

Placing your water feature in direct sun can speed up evaporation, leading to pump damage and algae growth. Shade or partial shade serves as the ideal location for most water features—just watch out for tree and plant debris that may fall in and clog the pump.

One reason you may want to fill in your pond is the cost of maintenance. Pond cleaning may cost about $1,000 for an annual cleanup, or monthly visits may cost $75 to $100 per visit. If you don’t want to spend that much per year on pond upkeep, you may consider filling in your pond.
