This was a horrible experience. I was told it would be done in 4 days, and took 8 days. This is the third time I have used Curt, and did good work in the past. This job was rushed, and he used multiple different subcontractors that were not used on my previous jobs. He quoted me the job, but then complained he was loosing money. Was unprofessional when talking with another subcontractor in front of me, complaining they did not show up. Personally I do not need to hear about the issues within the company and with his contractors/employees. I am a paying customer, who paid cash, that just wanted the job done and done well. When I pointed out the imperfections throughout, mostly in the cabinets and doors, it got blamed on the varnish, or the dry time, basically any excuse under the sun on why it didn't turn out. He never once accepted the responsibility/accountabilty for his team. If there were steps skipped or done too quickly. This was not the case with the last cabinets he painted. Once again, I feel this was rushed. It is not my job to know the steps of prepping cabinets, sanding, priming or whatever it maybe. I hire a company that they will look at the job, bid it accordingly, not complain, finish on time and do quality work. He came back a couple of times to "try and fix" the drip marks on cabinets and doors, and it made it worse. I finally just said enough was enough and everytime he "fixed" it, it got worse. He told me numerous times that he "lost money on this deal".......which is completely unprofessional to say to a customer, but actually I lost money on the deal, because now I had to pay someone to come in and clean up all the work that he did poorly. Sadly, I will never use them again, and want people to be aware, that the quality is far from good (possibly because of the people working for him). I had quite an expensive learning lesson from this.

Curt's foreman Josh & team (Darren, Brian, Derrick) were great. All work quoted was done timely & in scope. Additional work needed was quoted & approved prior to completing. All workers were curteous & cleaned up work area each day. I highly recommend these professionals to others needing a good house painter provider.

They didn't honor Angie's list coupon, said it was from December. Said he had a crew of 5 and it would take a week, then he complained that they spent 11 days on the job; never had crew of 5, and some days only 1 person working. Got paint on screens, dishes in kitchen, and paint drips on siding. Caulked rotten threshold, when I asked, he said they were replacing, then painted before replacing. With new threshold, there is a 1" gap between threshold and door. Offered some nice touches to protect porch pillars from squirrel damage - kept the charm of a Milwaukee bungalow while providing greater durability. Looks nice.

Exceedingly well -- work was done very well, and Curt was able to get the job completed more quickly than expected. As he noticed other small things, he asked if I would like them to do them (like powerwashing my porch.) It's not always easy finding people who will work on a tall house. My house definitely looks much better than before, and I will use Curt for other projects.

Words cannot describe the amazing job Curt and his team did on my condo.  I recently moved into a beautiful two-level loft with the layout of my dreams.  The only problem was that I despised the paint colors on every single wall in the place.  The project would require extremely technical painting as the walls were not in good shape.  There were holes and uneven patches hidden throughout; areas that were extremely high with lots of curves, ledges and angles.  The place also had closets with built-in shelves and drawers that needed to be removed prior to painting. Curt was fantastic throughout the entire project.  He kept in touch with me prior to the project to discuss colors and ideas.  There were some glitches along the way, one being that the owner needed to stay in the place an extra week, which would require us to postpone the project a full week.  Curt was extremely accommodating and adjusted his projects to make the timing work.  I’m a very picky and fickle person, and own up to the fact that I was probably one of Curt’s more high-maintenance clients, especially when it came to choosing my paint colors. He is an expert in color, and knows what will look good in a north vs. south facing room/rooms with little or no light and natural light. Curt was extremely patient with me, allowing me to take my time in selecting the colors.  He offered opinions that kept my personal tastes in mind.  On multiple occasions he told me that he would not feel like he was done with the job  unless we ended up with a place that I loved.  And love it I do.  Per his suggestion, we decided to do two-tone faux painting on the concrete beams throughout the place which are absolutely beautiful.  My father is in the hardware business and has a good eye for what constitutes quality work. When he saw what Curt and his team had done with the place he said it was some of the best painting he had ever seen.  I sometimes find myself just staring at the walls in awe of how beautiful they are. I have found a painter for life, and when I purchase my next home, I will make sure it’s a place where I hate every paint color so that I can go through the process of painting all over again.  He made a stressful project an extremely pleasant experience for me and I will be forever grateful.

Curt is pro. He avoids shortcuts & is honest. Medium price but good quality. Tower fan helps to dry fast. They don't have it.

They were able to get me in their schedule fairly quickly -  I appreciated that.  Two painters arrived the first day....a third arrived later in the day to help. They came back the 2nd day and finished end of day.  They paint job was good.  They cleaned up fine.  They asked me to take a look to make sure I was happy and I was.  The price included all paint (top of the line Sherwin Williams, and supplies).  That being said, I feel the price was a bit high.  I did have a deal through Angie's List that I bought, but didn't cover the job I needed done.  I would use them again, only if I could negotiate a better price.

Contractor failed repeatedly to show up on time.  Contractor failed to provide written estimate of project.  Contractor repeatedly criticized Angieslist.  Contractor repeatedly asked for additional money.  Contractor stained the baseboard the wrong color.

Curt gave us several good ideas.  For the time we spent together, he helped us rearrange our living room and gave us some ideas on how to decorate it.  We would use Curt in the future.

"Upon initial walk through we verified that all trim was to be painted prior to installation. However, after consistent follow ups with the builder and two weeks of delay (caused by the builder). I came in to find the finish lumber in place adding twice as much labor time that I did not charge for. Customer had concerns about trim paint so I second coated it to his satisfaction.. not to mention the $75.00 in paint samples I provided and applied for free, not to mention additional time and fuel cost for multiple trips to accommodate someone who clearly is doing his best to ruin people that work very hard for a living!"

I found the company on Angies list and bought the 4 hours of carpentry as a gift for a friend. The owner Curt Shultheiss came and looked at what had to be done.Curt said every problem has a solution.Curt showed a portfolio of his past work he had done.It was quite impressive. He was a very personable fellow. The crew he sent was very professional in every sense. They even took the picture off the walls and removed the furniture for my friend.Curt followed up on the job all the time the carpenters were working. The job turned out well and I would highly recommend Curt and his crew.

Curt, the owner, was very friendly and professional and so were the 2 workers he sent to handle the job. Both workers were there on 1st day but 2nd day only one was here and the job was a bit sloppy and not professional looking. Curt agreed to come back and review the work and he agreed to fix the issues and redo some of the areas with sand texture. Anthony returned the following Friday and Saturday and completed the job to satisfaction. Also, originally Curt quoted that the sand texture would be sprayed and the start day was delayed because he couldn't find someone available to do the job. Finally he/we decided on rolling the sand texture on and therefore it's not as even as it could be.

Excellent!  When Curt found himself running behind schedule, he was considerate enough to give me a call with his new time estimate.  He was very considerate and easy to talk to; thanks to his suggestion, I got the project finished that day.  I'm happy to recommend him, and would not hesitate to call him for any other projects that might arise.
