The deck railing looks awesome. They used cedar, and improved on the design of the old railing for a much better look. Again, the quality of work was great. The new sidewalk is better than we had hoped for. Once again they improved on our original design, and the quality of work and attention to detail was excellent. Chris and Tony are highly skilled and experienced at Hardie installation and took great care with our project. They work as a two-man team, with great attention to detail. These men take pride in their work, and follow or exceed best building practices in all areas of construction. We are happy to have the expertise of Adam, the project manager, as well. Adam has a wealth of remediation experience. This was a big project. The house is a two story, with a steep roof and a 38 foot high chimney. There were other tricky aspects of the job, too. Chris and Tony had to retrofit the window wrapping and flashing, due to the fact that the windows had not been wrapped or flashed properly by the builder. They did this masterfully. The house has an octagonal tower with many windows, which required a great deal of trim work. Chris and Tony suggested using fire and ice moisture barrier as the wrapping on the tower, to give it maximum protection. They protected the house from any possibility of water intrusion, by meticulously flashing and installing custom kick outs. In addition to being highly skilled, all three men are all-around nice guys. Talking with them about the project was easy. They listened to our ideas and made great suggestions. They were happy to answer our questions and were always accommodating. They were great about making changes in flashing and soffit colors, even going with an alternate supplier to get our choice of colors. We highly recommend J.G. Hause Construction to other homeowners. Before choosing J.G. Hause Construction, we looked at projects they have completed, talked to homeowners, and met numerous times with Adam, (our project manager). J.G. Hause is an established construction company with many satisfied customers. They are committed to excellence and stand behind their work. We are very happy that we trusted J.G. Hause Construction with our project! Chimney Cap Service reviews from real Angi homeowners in Glenwood City, WI
Matt did a fantastic job! He came out to do an inspection and found the main chimney needed cleaning and repair. He took pictures to show me and explained exactly what was going on and what would be needed to get the problems corrected. Matt went above and beyond to get the work done that day...

They showed up to replace the roof on time and got right to work. The weather got in the way, but they worked around it and got it done. The quality of work was excellent. They replaced my plastic roof vents with metal, tore down two unneeded chimneys, and did a great job of flashing the...

They were reasonable and I never had any complaints. I had also asked them, for a quote to rebuild my chimney and their estimate was too, expensive. It seemed, as if they didn?t want to do the work. I liked their services rendered the last time and will use the same in future.

Sole proprietor owned business since 2001 with eighteen years in business. master mason licensed, bonded and insured. We work as either a two or more crew depending on the job. I, Jeffrey, the owner, do all my own work. We're family here at Cornell Chimney. Three generations now. We are looking forward to service you.
"Cornell was hired to remove, rebuild and reline our chimney. We paid him his down payment , soon after he requested $4500 more to order the liner. He erected scaffold to complete the job, which ended up falling causing damage to our roof along with damage caused from dropping bricks on the roof. 4 months went by with little to no progress. Finally we received notice from his insurance company that he was dropped because of lack of payment. We were forced to higher a new chimney company to complete the job. At that point we found out Cornell had never ordered the liner that we paid for. We asked to have the $4500 returned but never received a response. I would highly recommend not allowing Cornell anywhere near anyone's roof. He is careless and unreliable."

"WARNING - make sure you get a fully price estimate up front before they begin to do work. I brought them in to work on furnace/AC unit/split AC unit servicing garage (based on a promotional price for the first two). It was found my split unit needed a recharge for coolant and I was told that it'd only be 5 lbs of coolant and that this would be priced by the pound (which was reasonable). The bill came and they tacked on a flat charge of $219 for the coolant (this is in addition to the $129 charge to look over the split unit). I felt baited-and-switched. I also contacted them about this, and the answer came down to "This is additional profit for us added onto your bill." Not pleased. At all. Particularly since the coolant in question costs approximately $6 per pound and they only used 5 lbs (one would assume that the $129 charge built in enough profit for labor/licenses/equipment due to the limited time spent working on the split unit. Apparently not). Comfort By Design does excellent work, and they do stand by their work, but just be VERY CAREFUL in finding out what they're going to charge you, particularly if something extra comes up when they're doing a job."

FAQs for chimney cap service projects in Glenwood City, WI
Chimney caps may be installed by a few different professionals, including a chimney sweep or a mason that specializes in fireplaces and chimneys. A gas fireplace technician is the best person to install a chimney cap on a gas log fireplace vent to be sure the cap is appropriate for the application.
A chimney cap costs about $300 on average. The prices range from about $75 to $1,000, depending on the material, size, any repairs needed, and if your chimney cap requires custom fabrication. Chimney caps are usually made from galvanized steel, copper, or stainless steel. Additional costs may include hiring a chimney sweep to clean the chimney before a cap is installed.
Help reduce energy bills by helping regulate your home’s temperature
Typically, a chimney cap will last from three to 25 years. This wide range is due to variables like climate, the material the cap is made from, and how often you use your fireplace. Regular inspections and maintenance can help extend the life of your chimney cap.
The best style of chimney cap for a brick chimney is one that fits tightly around the brick top of the chimney. The cap should have a screen to fully enclose it to keep animals out. The best materials include stainless steel, copper, or aluminum that fit tightly or are custom fabricated for a perfect fit on your chimney.
