"One Hour Heating did a very thorough job. I had a malfunctioning humidifier on my furnace and they were able to identify the issue, order/deliver the part and install the new humidistat in less than a couple of hours. I was very impressed with both technicians onsite and would certainly recommend them for all of your heating/hvac needs."

"The overall install went well except for a small flaw. The small hole drilled in the PVC pipe splashes wtr out of the sump when pmp is activated. I now have to try to cover a portion of the sump to eliminate the issue."

"WE DID GET AN ESTIMATE THAT WAS $1,000 LESS, BUT WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WOULD TAKE 5 TO 7 DAYS TO COMPLETE THE JOB, AND IT WAS OUR PERSONAL CHOICE NOT TO LIVE WITH THAT INCONVENIENCE. INVESTMENT PAINTING GAVE A PROMPT ESTIMATE AND COMPLETED THE JOB AS PROMISED. THEY HAD A LARGER CREW AND WERE ABLE TO FINISH THIS JOB IN TWO DAYS, AND THE ROOMS LOOKED GREAT. A MINOR CONCERN WAS THAT SOMETHING WAS DUMPED IN OUR UTILITY TUB IN THE BASEMENT WHICH CAUSED A DRAINAGE PROBLEM. ALSO, SOME OF OUR WINDOWS AND CABINETS HAD DRIPPINGS FROM THE WALLPAPER REMOVAL. WHEN WE DID SEE SOME AREAS THAT WEREN'T COMPLETED TO OUR SATISFACTION, THEY CAME THE VERY NEXT DAY AND TOOK CARE OF IT. THEY ALSO CLEANED SOME OF THE WINDOWS THAT HAD THE DRIPPINGS FROM THE WALLPAPER REMOVAL. WE WERE IMPRESSED WITH THEIR PROMPT RESPONSE."

Sump Pump Installation questions, answered by experts

Installing a battery backup for your sump pump is recommended, particularly if you live in an area with frequent power outages or severe rainstorms. A sump pump requires electricity to function, and a battery backup ensures it can continue to move water out of your home if the power goes out, providing crucial protection against flooding. Additionally, frequent power outages can create electrical surges that might damage the sump pump's motor. A battery backup system offers an additional layer of protection, ensuring your basement stays dry.

DIY is possible for simple repairs. Professional services ensure proper diagnostics and long-term reliability.

To maintain your sump pump, start by checking it every three to four months to ensure it’s in working order. Clear any debris from the pit because blockages can prevent the pump from operating efficiently. You should also test the pump by pouring a bucket of water into the pit. If it turns on automatically and drains the water, it’s functioning correctly. Inspect the discharge line for clogs, and ensure it directs water away from your home. Once a year, clean the pump itself, and consider having it professionally serviced for optimal performance.

3/4 HP is stronger than 1/2 HP. Horsepower measures how much weight can be moved and how fast, or the power needed to move 550 pounds one foot in one second. 1 HP equals 550 foot-pounds per second, so the higher the horsepower, the heavier the load it can lift. While 1/2 HP is a standard, powerful option, 3/4 HP has the extra strength to handle heavier, larger doors with ease.

Sump pumps remove excess water from the lowest point of your home, which prevents flooding. When a sump pit fills with water, a sump pump pushes that water outside of the basin and into an exterior discharge pipe. From there, the water flows away from your home, so it doesn’t damage your foundation.
