"Rafael was such a pleasure to work with. He installed a pop up drain in our front yard. Leveled out our back yard and side yard bringing in dirt. Removed old debris along with dead grass. Also installed rock bed underneath our deck and in our culvert of our ditch. He also Installed new sod with great communication the entire time. Would highly recommend this guy!"

All too often unreliable general contractors give a bad name to good companies. Horror stories of leaky “waterproofed” Waukesha basement remodels, West Allis kitchen remodels going over budget and New Berlin lawn care crews never showing to the job. Home remodeling and landscaping shouldn’t be this hard. We are a full service contractor: Landscape, Concrete, Excavation, Custom Decks, Exterior Painting, Tuck-pointing, Pavers, and more. Choose Premier Service Group and you will get a prompt response and a courteous completion of each and every project.

Mulch and Topsoil questions, answered by experts

Organic mulch typically lasts between 4 to 6 years. However, factors like the type of organic mulch you choose, mulch size, and weather conditions can all play a role in its longevity. In some cases, you’ll need to replace organic mulch every few years.

It depends. High-end colored mulch can be fairly costly. However, you'll have to replace less-expensive natural mulches, like pine needles and cedar mulch, more frequently.

The cost is balanced out somewhat, though, as although you'll have to replace colored mulch less often, you'll have to replenish nutrients in your soil more frequently to make up for the decrease in organic matter and nitrogen from the mulch.

The most important thing to put under a rock garden is the appropriate soil. The specific soil needed will depend on the type of plants you’re growing as well as the environment you live in. You can also put non-woven or woven fabric under the rocks to add to the garden's structural stability.

A gravel driveway costs from $1.25 to $1.80 per square foot, including materials and installation. Cost factors for this project include the type of gravel, its thickness, and the amount of site preparation required.

Consider these cost estimates for a 20-foot-long driveway:

  • 1-car (240 square feet): $300–$432

  • 2-car (480 square feet): $600–$864

  • 4-car (960 square feet): $1,200–$1,728

Here are gravel driveways costs for a 50-foot-long driveway:

  • 1-car (600 square feet): $750–$1,080

  • 2-car (1,200 square feet): $1,500–$2,160

  • 4-car (2,400 square feet): $3,000–$4,320

Before you put down grass seed, you should cultivate your soil or add two inches of topsoil. You should also put down fertilizer at the same time as your seed to prompt healthy growth. Be sure to water after you put down grass seed, especially for the first two weeks.
