"The appointment seemed rushed. The two men were on time and pleasant. They upsold us a light for the keeping the air ducts cleaner and healthier. So we took advantage of that. Then, instead of the two bulbs in the system, he dropped and broke one. He took $20 off the total bill, and said that since our condo was smaller, we could get by with just one light. (Then they didn't bother to sweep up all of the broken glass on the basement floor.) Again, not very professional with any follow through. When I spoke with him before the appointment, I asked if he needed access to all of our vents for the air duct cleaning. And he said, no, he can do everything from the basement. Then, when they arrived, that all changed. They needed to remove our basement window to run the vacuum hose through. Then, they needed access to most of the vents. One vent was not replaced properly (not replacing the screws into the wall), and of course there was chunks of dust left lying on the floor throughout the condo. Next, the dryer vent is located on the roof--which he knew ahead of time. He asked to use our step ladder which was not tall enough to climb onto the roof. So he climbed up the back fence to the roof to clean it out, and then jumped from the roof to the ground. (Not bringing their own ladder was not very professional, and not very safe jumping from the roof.) Still not sure if a dryer vent should also be cleaned behind the dryer? If so, ours was not cleaned there at all. They mentioned they had to get to another appointment, and then they rushed off. My fault for not asking more questions while they were here, but they are the professionals and should follow through with the customer before taking off. I would not recommend this company. They need to do a walkaround with the customer before leaving a job site. They seem rather new to this portion of their services. They have "carpet cleaning" on the side of their vehicle, so not sure if that service is done better. PS: They did hang an outdoor wreath for us which was appreciated."

"Purchased a Big Deal. It worked out fine. He actually went to visit 3 times to make sure that all the ducts was unclogged in certain rooms because I told him that one of the rooms was not getting central air as the others so I think that helped a ton also. He was on time; actually he was early. He was professional."

"Danny Carillo did a thorough and comprehensive analysis of our older furnace. He measured, tested, and then explained in clear language that our older furnace was in good shape by explaining how furnaces age, and what are likely system failures when the system is no longer working to our advantage. It was like a physical for a doctor. Danny was very knowledgeable and pleasant to us, It's clear that he is an excellent member of a well prepared team who know that by taking care of the customer is going to ensure the HVAC system will work with the best performance."

Common repairs for central vacuum cleaners include motor repair, electrical repair, and blocked filters. Central vacuum motor issues typically come with a burning smell and loss of suction. With these issues, you might need simple lubrication to keep it running smoothly, or for more extreme problems, you could need a motor replacement.
Electrical problems or losing suction strength, might be reasons to swap out electrical components for new ones. However, a local central vacuum repair professional can tell you the best plan of action for your system.
The average cost for central vacuum cleaner repair is $310, though prices can range from $120 to $500. Your total cost will depend on the type of repair needed and the type of central vacuum you own.
A minor motor repair, like lubrication, only costs around $50. However, if you need to replace your motor, you’ll be looking at a much higher price tag with a total of $100 to $500. Other fixes, like electrical work, are charged by the hour, which ranges from $15 to $55 per hour.
The average cost to hire an HVAC contractor is between $50 and $150 per hour if charging hourly. However, some HVAC contractors will charge a flat fee by the type of service they are performing—for example, an inspection can cost between $150 to $500. Keep in mind that emergency repairs—which are made after business hours or around major holidays—generally cost more than scheduled repairs.
Yes, most states require HVAC technicians to be certified, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed HVAC technician could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
The cost for air duct cleaning is about $380, on average. However, costs can range between $270 and $500, depending on location, number of vents, duct accessibility, and how much cleaning is required. Additional factors can impact the cost of cleaning your air ducts, such as removing pests, mold and mildew, asbestos, and other unforeseen needs. Any repairs will also add to the cost of the job.
