"Very knowledgeable guy who seem to know what he’s doing. Don’t know results of spraying. Have had much rain since. Will have to see if it worked. Terminex will spray again the beginning of next month."

"Sean and Richard did an amazing job getting rid of the woodpeckers getting into our attic. They removed the existing woodpecker nests from the attic and installed "bird blocks" around our house in the likely places. They were very nice to work with and very professional. They came when they said they would and did an amazing job, for a fair price and finished quite quickly. They did everything they said they were going to do. They gave us a guarantee and encouraged us to contact him with any questions. I did text Sean, and he responded quickly with a good answer. I would highly recommend U.S. Animal Control of the Great Northwest!"

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

The best time of year to remove bats is autumn until spring. In fact, many states have restrictions on bat removal, mandating it to start sometime in August and go up until May. For some states, the removal period stops in March. Your pest control pro should know of any restrictions and can help you pick an optimal time for removal.

Generally, spring is the best time to hire a pest control service, but it also depends on when you notice the infestation. Insect pest numbers are lower in spring before they hatch, making the extermination and prevention process more manageable as nests and eggs of future pests are eliminated. However, don’t hesitate to hire a pest control specialist when you spot signs of a problem.

You can find a variety of humane bird repellent sprays online and at home improvement stores. However, if you want to try a DIY method that will keep birds away without harming them, mix some water, dish soap, and a few drops of peppermint oil and spray the area you want bird-free. Peppermint oil is a notoriously lovely smell for humans, but birds tend to avoid it.

DIY treatments may help minor issues, but professionals provide long-term solutions and prevent recurrence.

An owl's worst enemy in the wild is often other raptors and environmental factors. Among the avian threats, larger owls or other birds of prey can pose a danger, engaging in territorial disputes or competing for food resources. Terrestrial predators like foxes, raccoons, and larger mammals may target owl nests or young fledglings. Environmental factors like severe weather conditions, habitat loss, and food availability changes can also significantly impact owl populations.
