"Maurice (the owner) was extremely poor with communication. If he was so super busy, he should not not demonstrated interest in the project I needed to have done. Maurice came out on Friday June 19th at 3 pm and stayed for about two hours. He told me there's a cost of $45/hour over the phone at no more than $100 for the initial visit. After he removed the baseboard, cut the wall and diagnosed the problem, I paid $120 for the service. I didn't question it because I was extremely appreciative that he figured out the problem so quickly. I had every intent at that point to hire him not only to fix the water damage done and install a new shower door, but I also requested that he send me an estimate for new flooring on the ENTIRE top floor of my house. He is an alum from the university I graduated and currently work at. I really thought I was in good hands. He said he'll send me an estimate in a couple of days. On the following Monday (6/15) I followed up with an email to include a bid for a custom made door since I was expecting the estimate within a day or two. I heard nothing from Maurice all week. I sent a text AND email on Saturday June 20th at about 9 am and finally heard from him at 2:24 pm with an apology as well as an estimate. The estimate was a bit over my budget so after some dialogue via text messaging, I realize I need to prioritize the work and we both agreed installing the door and mold removal would be the priorities. He agreed to send me an adjusted estimate and schedule to begin the work on Monday June 22. I never hear from Maurice (granted Sunday was Father's Day). On Monday (6/22) at 11:46 am I sent a text AND email. Heard nothing. At 3:30 pm, I followed up with another text to schedule something since I had already cleared my calendar that day to get the work started. Heard nothing. Finally, I get an email with an adjusted estimate in which he doubled the cost for the mold removal. I felt extremely disrespected by Maurice. I lost the $120 I initially paid and have now inherited a hole in my bedroom wall. Again, if you're so busy, please don't accept additional jobs and show your lack of professionalism!"
