There were 3 people that came to complete the job. They were very efficient and they did a great job. They even spot cleaned a 3rd rug I had in the kitchen. The only thing I didn't like was that I felt they should?ve called to inform me that they were going to be a little late.
"There are absolutely no chemicals in any product we use and it's ground-up cornhusk not walnuts you should read the information we left you"
arrived a little late but I received a phone call informing me they were on their way which I appreciated. gave lots of information regarding the cleaning process, gave me some handouts and answered all my questions. He was very professional yet friendly and my carpet looks great.
The service went Great, I had some stains that I thought would be impossible to remove, however Jeff was able to get them out.
I have used his service 3 times and am extremely pleased with their work.,
It is great to be able to walk on a newly cleaned carpet as soon as they are done, and not having to wait for hours/days for the carpet to dry
We discussed costs for spot stain removal and 2 staircases. We were told there would be no additional costs for stairs on one call, when I discussed 2 curved staircases in detail. An added stairs fee is mention on the web site, but we did not see this since our discussion indicated we would not be charged extra if we were within the 2400 SF limit.
I was told the cleaning process was as effective on dirty and high traffic area light-beige color carpet with stains as stream or other cleaning methods, but that their process would not have the problems associated with wet spots and mold growth carpet under furniture at wet spots and that large furniture did not need to be moved. Lesser mold risk from wet carpet sounded good, so I bought the coupons and scheduled the cleaning.
A day after scheduling, the vendor called to change the date to one day later. They called again the day of the cleaning (30 minutes before the scheduled cleaning) to say they would be 3 hours late. At least they called.
Upon arrival, the crew leader said they would charge $4/step for the stairs (almost the cost of the whole rest of the house using the 2 coupons for 2400SF). We agreed to pay the extra as we had already spent several hours preparing the house for the carpet cleaning and getting things off the floors and from under beds.
As discussed above, there were to be no special added stairs charges if we took the 2 coupon deal and stayed un der 2400SF carpet during my initial phone discussion with the office where I said the 2 flights of stairs needed considerable attention as they were both high traffic stained areas and curved. We only agreed to pay because of the huge amount of time lost in picking everything back up again, getting coupons refunded, and rescheduleing another cleaners. We are too trusting and should have gotten this agreement in writing. We should know better.
I consider this to be an intentionally deceptive business practice.
The cleaning consisted of spreading powdered corn husks on the area rugs and stairs, and then vacuuming back up most of the corn husk powder that had been spread. I am not sure this is a good idea as the organic matter could be food for dust mites and other creatures. They said we should vacuum up the residual powder ourselves. They did not vacuum up the corn husk dust that they spread on floors around the rugs.
A carpet cleaning tool that looked like a standard grocery store carpet-cleaning rental machine was used on the flat wall-wall carpeted areas. It was a wet cleaning system, but not steam.Supposedly they used a green cleanser in this machine.
Unfortunately this cleaning was not much better from a vacuuming, and they even missed dust and lint in almost every corner and edge everywhere in the house that a maid service would have caught. This was sloppy and careless work.
We have never had pets, stains were just a few coffee or tea dribbles that seemed to come up using Resolve spot cleaning but thaen showed up months later as dark spots on light-color carpet as a stain, or as dark carpet zones on high traffic paths. No stains came up or were even significantly reduced. This was effectively nothing but a vacuuming of the carpet, and then not all the way to the wall and furniture corners.
As the 3 man team was ready to leave, as I commented that the carpet stains were all still present. The leader said we should schedule a steam cleaner to come clean the carpet.
Also, he said we should use our home vacuum to remove the corn husks as their system left some powder in the carpet. The process took about an hour.
It is not so much the wasted $268 that bothered us and motivated our writing of this detailed memo. It is this company's deceptive business practice and our irritation over a entire lost-day preparing for this useless ?not-cleaning?. Now we still need to have the carpet really cleaned again so everything when we can find another entuire day to waste since everything must again be moved again.
