We work so dogs can play, installing fences since 1990. At DogWatch Hidden Fences, we understand that your pet is an important part of your family. With our indoor and outdoor pet fence systems, you can have confidence and peace of mind about the safety of your dog or cat. Our Hidden Fences are the most advanced and safest pet containment systems available. How the Hidden Fence Works To Keep Your Pet Safe: Through an easy training process, your pet learns to identify and stay within your pet containment area. He learns to respond to an audible signal (a beep that comes from his collar). If he continues to go beyond the audible signal, he receives a mild correction transmitted through the receiver collar. Most dogs learn easily and quickly to respond to the audible warning signal when they get too close to the hidden fence. DogWatch Hidden Fences are safe for your pet and they are effective at keeping pet safe. Veterinarians, pet professionals and pet trainers all over the world own and recommend DogWatch Hidden Fence pet containment systems. Whatever your pet containment needs are, a DogWatch Hidden Fence is the best way to give your pet the freedom he deserves while keeping him safe. DogWatch Hidden Fences of Portland is locally owned and operated by Native Portlanders. All installations and trainings are conducted by seasoned employees and we pride ourselves in many many happy dogs and dog owners. Call or e-mail today for a free property estimate or if we can answer any questions you may have about hidden fencing. Service area covered: We service Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington, including the communities of Portland, Salem, Beaverton, Gresham, Camas, Longview, Vancouver.

"My dog died of cancer because Dr. Newton misdiagnosed her cancer as benign without any tests being done. I asked a vet through online chat about a bump my dog had in her mouth and showed a picture. The ONLINE vet told me it was cancer and take her in. So I did. And then it got worse and I took my dog in again, antibiotics. Then it got even worse and by that time, getting the results of cancer was too late. I took her to an oncologist and another vet. I tried so hard but it was too late. Her lower jaw would have had to be removed and the next surgery wasn't for two weeks. She wouldn't have made it to surgery if i would have tried to push my dogs life to make it.. If this is your first time getting pet insurance because you think it is the best for your animal to finally be on a plan...then go somewhere else. Look into actual pet insurance like Trupanion and go to an actual vet. DON'T GO TO THIS CORPORTATE CRAP!! Need help with financials and asking your Banfield vet about any resources, any non-profits organizations, anything to help...nope. Just care credit. She didn't even mention anything about the Banfield Foundation...their own foundation. Now I am stuck with a $700 bill ontop of the $500 I just paid to upgrade the plan for the dental and biopsy on my dead dog because I upgraded two weeks ago to try and save her life. It could have been different if the vet would have taken any kind of measure to make sure it wasn't actually cancer. I trusted her. She made it sound like it would be okay and I believed her. I didn't know. She should have. That very first day the online vet said cancer, she should have made it sound concerning. I would have changed my plan and everything right then, under her guidance. My dog would have actually been able to have a quality life after surgery or radiation if we would have started the process on August 31st instead of October 14th. She would still be here. Please do more research on pet insurance."

Animal Fencing questions, answered by experts

Paint your fence, install customized fence slats, or attach a bamboo screen for a more appealing yard aesthetic. Paint can give your yard a unique and fun look, and adding fence slats gives you a classic fence appearance. Bamboo screens are probably the most unique option that can add a fun vibe to your space.

Determining the best type of fence to contain your pet can be tricky. Consult a pet fence installer and consider the following questions:

  • What size pet do you have? Some fence types, like chain link, are too short to contain large dogs.

  • Is digging an issue? Some fences, like brick or stone, help minimize digging at the fence line, where wood fences aren’t as adequate.

  • Do you need to block your pet’s view of the neighbor's yard? Some fences, like metal iron fencing and chain link, don’t offer an obstructed view.

Regular lawn care keeps snakes away because it eliminates common hiding places. You can deter snakes by trimming grass, shrubs, and trees and removing weeds from your lawn and gardens. Clear away leaves and other debris that could serve as a potential snake habitat. You can also seal entry points around building perimeters and install metal snake fencing.

A fence installer or homeowner should place a snow fence upwind of the desired drift area, while keeping the prevailing wind direction in mind. When installing a snow fence, its posts should be sturdy, as they will be the weakest areas in terms of tensile strength. Posts should be buried at one-third their height and placed no more than eight feet apart.

Clean regularly, inspect for damage, and seal or paint wooden fences to protect against weather.
