Description of Work: Installed window headers in kitchen walls of home built in 1907 with no headers over any of the windows. This problem was discovered when the kitchen walls of lath and plaster had to be removed during a full kitchen remodel. Also installed roof flashings for a gas b-vent chimney and air vent for the kitchen sink. He knows what he is doing! I can say this as I retired from 25 years working as a residential and commerical energy conservation inspector for a large public electric utility here in Washington State.

+ -1 moreRandy quoted me $35 an hour on the phone for the problem as it is very difficult to predict how far a dry rot problem can extend. Randy arrived 10 min. early to come and look at a dry rot problem I had. He took a look at it and said he could fix it right then and there. It took him 1.5 hours to fix and he did a fantastic job. He replaced all the rotted boards and plywood. He did not even need to go to Home Depot for material! He was prepared, honest and very friendly. My only regret was not asking him to stay and do some more work before he was off on to his next appointment. What a refreshing experience finding a general contractor that has the attitude that "no job is too small", arrives early and able to get the work done quickly without any surprises.
Description of Work: Dry rot issues at the front door that was caused by an incorrect deck installation. Needed to have all the dry rot framing removed and replaced with new wood.

+ -1 moreRandy came over to my house that I had just purchased. I needed a couple of things repaired, such as the electrical outlet on the back porch and the lights on the front of my garage. Randy put in a new electrical box on my back porch. He said one of the bulbs had burned out and the fixtures weren't wired well so they shold be replaced, but I could keep putting new bulbs in, knowing they would burn out quickly, if I wanted to, or if I bought new fixtures, he could install them for me. Also, I asked him to look at a light switch because it was clicking when I turned it on and that seemed a bad. He said it was just tight, and he could replace it for me, but there was no need to have it replaced.
Description of Work: Put in a new electrical box on my back porch; changed a light bulb for me; told me a switch was tight, but just fine (no need to replace).

Description of Work: I used Randy Garrison Construction to look at some light sockets because I was concerned that there was something wrong. He said that he could put in new ones if I wanted but there really wasn't any reason for it. He fixed an electrical box in my backyard. He also looked at my front porch lights that I thought were broken; the bulb was just out so he put in a new bulb.

+ 17 moreRandy is an honest, competent and hard working contractor who is a perfectionist, provides great customer service and guarantees his work. He's totally pet-friendly. He easily made friends with my big dogs and they now think he's part of the family. Randy's customer service is above and beyond. On several occasions, when I've had a problem, Randy has dropped what he was doing and come to my house the same day as my call, at 7pm or 8 in the evening, to check out the problem and do what he could to fix it. He'll work with you on your timeline to the extent humanly possible. And his pricing is at or below the market for quality work. In short, Randy Garrison Construction is a five star service provider. I don't know what I'd do without him.
Description of Work: Randy was the primary sub and single co-worker to my contractor for all work except major electrical on an extensive remodel of my kitchen in 2006-7. This remodel involved moving an exterior wall and changing the roof line of my house as well as totally stripping the old kitchen down to the studs, replacing the windows and re-siding 2 sides of the house. Randy was involved hands-on in every aspect of this remodel except making the new cabinets. Since then, Randy has been my go-to guy for a number of projects, including: two bathroom remodels, including tile work , painting and window replacement; re-roofing half of the roof on my house; repairing the cover on my deck; replacing portions of a cedar fence; refinishing the deck and replacing portions of the decking; most recently, removing the old and installing a new water heater; and a variety of other handyman projects.

He was always patient and helpful when we wanted to add or change items while the work was being performed.He went the extra mile ,And worked long hours, weekends. He was the best of the best. He finished before the move in date.
Description of Work: Randy did a pre move in remodel, we had the living room wall torn down to open up the dining room, installed new exterior doors, new windows, concrete patio, opened up the closet for a large refrigerator, added insulation to the attic, laid plywood in the attic above garage for storage, installed a doggy door, added some outlets and fans in the bathrooms, and a lot more.
