My dog died of cancer because Dr. Newton misdiagnosed her cancer as benign without any tests being done. I asked a vet through online chat about a bump my dog had in her mouth and showed a picture. The ONLINE vet told me it was cancer and take her in. So I did. And then it got worse and I took my dog in again, antibiotics. Then it got even worse and by that time, getting the results of cancer was too late. I took her to an oncologist and another vet. I tried so hard but it was too late. Her lower jaw would have had to be removed and the next surgery wasn't for two weeks. She wouldn't have made it to surgery if i would have tried to push my dogs life to make it.. If this is your first time getting pet insurance because you think it is the best for your animal to finally be on a plan...then go somewhere else. Look into actual pet insurance like Trupanion and go to an actual vet. DON'T GO TO THIS CORPORTATE CRAP!! Need help with financials and asking your Banfield vet about any resources, any non-profits organizations, anything to help...nope. Just care credit. She didn't even mention anything about the Banfield Foundation...their own foundation. Now I am stuck with a $700 bill ontop of the $500 I just paid to upgrade the plan for the dental and biopsy on my dead dog because I upgraded two weeks ago to try and save her life. It could have been different if the vet would have taken any kind of measure to make sure it wasn't actually cancer. I trusted her. She made it sound like it would be okay and I believed her. I didn't know. She should have. That very first day the online vet said cancer, she should have made it sound concerning. I would have changed my plan and everything right then, under her guidance. My dog would have actually been able to have a quality life after surgery or radiation if we would have started the process on August 31st instead of October 14th. She would still be here. Please do more research on pet insurance.

Work was done, communications and follow-up from vet were poor. Had to chase information, when I did speak to vet, they were helpful. But we had to chase the communications. Have not yet received a follow-up call either. Perhaps this business is understaffed as we feel underserved. The 192nd Vancouver location seems to perform much better on the same criteria, so maybe there’s some best practices to share.

I purchased their pet insurance. What keeps me going back to them is that it is convenient. Now that I have a pet that needs grooming, it just solidifies that arrangement. They know how to treat a pet when they groom them.

I use them all the time. I have five animals. They seem to have a genuine concern for my animals and they take their time explaining medications and procedures and they don't go move their eyes at you when you're asking stupid questions and stuff like that. They're just really, really professional and thorough and they understand what your animals mean to you.

They did everything that they were supposed to do. They have an excellent program with a monthly fee according to the dog’s size, height, age and weight. It is a little package deal and think of things that the dog’s owner don’t. When they cleaned my dog’s teeth they did a wellness check at the same time which was all incorporated. They are on the spot and always call and remind me. They find out about the feedback and called me yesterday to find out about my dog and informed me that they’d like to have her back anytime. Once I have the package I can take my dog in to see a vet everyday and not be charged. Their price is great and I don’t know any other veterinary service that offers this type of a program. They have a special guy who cleans the teeth; I dropped my dog off at 7:00am in the morning and picked her up at 2:30pm the same afternoon. She came home with her little antibiotics and pain medications; she is a happy dog now. I had to pay only for the extraction. I cleaning was included in the package and if I had to pay out of my pocket then it would have costed me almost $500.00. I pay a monthly fee of $35.00 for my little dog. They are nice and clean. I could login and go online with my special code and find out everything that they have done and needs to be done; everything is right there. They are fantastic.

I took my cat to them.  They were marvelous.  They seemed expensive, but I realized later that their prices were average.  They were responsive.  They were professional.  I would visit them in the future also.

So we recently moved to Portland from St. Louis, where we were happily using a Banfield Pet Hospital for my dog Lucy. That Banfield was awesome in so many ways and we loved the doctors and the staff. We are signed up for the Optimum Wellness Plan which, despite what others say here, I don't think is a rip-off. It is at its best value for a puppy when you have to get all the shots, but my favorite part is that you get free office visits anytime. So when Lucy got a mysterious bald patch on her coat I decided to make an inaugural visit to the Banfield here over it. Now like I said I am already enrolled in the Wellness program. I pay monthly for it. So before I left I asked my Banfield how to go about switching to another office. They said the new office would be able to help me out with that. So when I made my appointment at this place I told them I wanted to switch over. The lady on the phone got my information, and even asked for the prior Banfield's info so she could get my records sent over. When I arrived for my appointment I was surprised when they asked me to fill out a new client form. "Are you sure?" I asked, "When I called last week the records were supposed to be sent over." She assured me I still needed to fill it out. We saw the doctor within 5 minutes of waiting. She was a pretty young blonde doctor. Very nice, very sweet to my dog, but also very wishywashy and unassertive about treatment for Lucy. My options were either a $150 test to determine whether she has ringworm, or $60 treatment for ringworm (which would be necessary if the test were conclusive, resulting in $210). I asked if there were any ill side effects from the medication and she said no, so it seemed silly for me to not just skip to it. I go to check out, pay, and walk out. Before I get to the car I examine the invoice. They had flippin charged me for the office visit. So I walk back in and wait in line, and explain the mistake. "Ohhh, this could take awhile, please take a seat," she says. 15 minutes later she figures it out, but I have to switch my plan to their office and enroll in another year of service starting that day to get the discount. B*******. It should be whatever period I am already signed on with from before. I did it, but I am going to cancel once I find a better vet. What makes this sting worse is that this clinic is across the street from the Banfield corporate headquarters. You'd think they'd run things better. I'm just annoyed because I did my very best to avoid any confusion with the switchover and it was till an inconvenient mess. If I actually liked the office or doctor I would let it go, but it was a completely underwhelming experience all around.

Its always been a good experience. We see a different doctor every time, but they have always been good. You don't have to make an appointment and they offer discounts on shots and general care for your pet. They take great care of my cat.

We arrived for our appointment before our scheduled time but were kept waiting for about 15 minutes before anyone came out to wait on us. There was someone in the waiting room before us who had been there for about 10 minutes before we arrived.

I'd read many reviews about the Wellness Plan with unhappy results. Wasn't ever asked to join. To my amazement the office visit fee was waived since we were new patients. Nice staff and doctor.

THEY WERE REALLY GOOD, I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM. THEY WERE ALWAYS UP FRONT ABOUT EVERYTHING AND GAVE US THE BOTTOM LINE. THEY GAVE US ALL THE INFORMATION WE NEEDED. I THOUGHT THE PRICE WAS OKAY COMPARED TO SOME OF THE OTHERS WE CHECKED OUT.

I WAS PLEASED. THEY SEEMED TO CARE ABOUT HER AND THE OTHER ANIMALS THEY WERE SEEING. THEY SEEMED TO BE VERY BUSY, BUT THEY WERE ALSO COMPETENT. THEY WEREN'T RUSHING JUST BECAUSE THEY WERE BUSY.
