West-Meyer Fence

I used them in the past. They always do a good job. Any adjustment to be made, I just have to call them and they'll do it.

They came out to give a quote and discuss options. Never heard back from them after following up multiple times on pricing.

It took a while to confirm what the gate would look like, and agree on exactly what we wanted. It was a big project and we wanted to make sure that we were clear about what we were agreeing on. Once we did that, we were scheduled for the work. The 2 men who did the work were really great. They were very skilled, offered great suggestions, and were always pleasant. They seemed to really enjoy what they were doing. They were on the job early and worked steadily until finished. This was a big ticket item for us, but we got a lot for it. West-Meyer was patient with us as we made our decisions. They are very busy, so we tried to be patient in return. The end result is our existing wooden fence is sturdy, and the metal gates, fence and driveway gate are beautiful. It is getting harder to find good, honest, skilled workman in Portland as everyone is so busy. I am pleased that we found West-Meyer.

I called them and was asked to send pictures of the damage which I did. I never received any response. I know they have my information on file because they fixed my fence before.

They came out and took measurements provided me an estimated cost, then they just disappeared. Not sure if they made an error and misquoted me, a price too low (approx $2k) and did not want to tell me a higher price, or were just not interested. Very poor customer service and little to no responsiveness.

Work done was great. They didn't harm any of the nearby plants and did what the work order said. Unfortunately when I tried to contact them to perform more work, both by emailing and calling, I received no response.

I spoke with a woman over the phone in mid-April to get a quote for our fence. Was on the phone for quite awhile answering all of the questions, measurements, type of fence, etc. She said that they were backed up on in-person visits but would send me a general quote in a couple of days. After not hearing or receiving any emails I called again May 4th and the same woman answered the phone. I asked if she could send me the quote and she was quite adamant that it wasn't her I spoke with. She had a very distinct voice and I was quite sure I had...after some uncomfortable back and forth she did find my file and apologized that they were busy and working overtime. Then it seemed as literally nothing had been written down on my previous inquiry. I had to give all the information again...basically starting at zero. Was assured a quote was on the way. Well here we are another two weeks later and not a call or email. I understand companies are busy but so am I. It takes lots of time when you have a family and are working full time to sit down, research, make calls, and meet people for quotes. The whole reason I subscribe to Angies List.....anyway not sure how they have such a high rating as the customer service is beyond terrible. Needless to say won't waste my time calling a third time! Cascade Deck came over within 2 weeks and gave us a very professional and timely quote. So I do know it can be done!

For the metal fence, they made helpful suggestions to make it aesthetic and this project was done quickly and well. The 300" wood fence was a major project This was a complicated and difficult project due to extensive tree's and landscaping to negotiate and different requirements for each side of the fence. They had to work around previous fencing (one side repaired the others replaced, with posts deep in ground, etc. They did a beautiful job with a specialized lattice work on one side (extensive height and length) and trellis for old wisteria (that had grown up the fencing and into an tall tree). They creatively worked old tree's, etc. into the new fence to preserve the fence line and the plants. We were gone during the last part of the fence work and requested they come back and change a variety of things (ie the gate direction, add bottom boards to make pet safe, move soil,etc). They quickly made the requested changes despite it being during the high peak work season. We were very pleased with the completed project. They were all very pleasant to work with.

From start to finish, this was a great company to work with. Everyone - from owner to office to install crew - was friendly, timely, communicative, and did a great job. They removed an old fence that had fallen down in the wind and put up a new fence exactly as I wanted. I highly recommend this business.

Great. They installed a very sturdy fence and cleaned up afterwards.

Designed and installed a custom railing that went up and made a turn on our front steps. Needed as a safety measure as we have many elderly friends and were concerned for their safety. It is helpful if you have pictures of designs.

Lance came out soon after I had called, gave us ideas of how much the fence would cost and what it might look like. He gave us some of his own ideas but my son who is an architect gave me a design which Lance copied perfectly. He spoke with my son to get the details right and he did a beautiful job. He was a little late in getting the job started but he always answered my emails promptly. I would recommend him in a heart beat.

I called West-Meyer Fence to get an estimate for a handrail for my 94 year old mother. She wanted something fun to look at, and needed something sturdy. Lance came to our home the next morning. West-Meyer does it's own fabrication, and he suggested the perfect railing. Received the estimate the next day and scheduled installation, which was done exactly when requested. I must apologize that I am forgetful of names, but want to point out that their installer obviously takes great pride in his work and company, and was very comfortable to be around. Mom loves her new handrail. A complete success.

The crew arrived early, got the job done well within the stated time frame and even did a small little extra.

Everything went really well! The guys who came to install were nice and on time. They did everything quickly and even threw in some additional work free of charge. We had railings in the back of the house that needed some patch work at the point they hit the cement and they went ahead and did it. They also gave us the paint they used for the railings in case there was any touch up that needed to be done.

Every bit of the work was professionally done. The crew was skilled, hard working, business like, and thorough. They arrived on time and worked steadily each day.

West Meyer Fence was great from start to finish. Lance West responded quickly to our inquiry and came to our property to make the needed measurements promptly. The bid was submitted the day after taking the measurements. It was very competitive and we felt very confident in moving ahead with them since we had met Lance when he made the measurements. The handrails were installed about two weeks after we accepted the bid with no problems. They are perfect and we get lots of compliments on our new handrails!

I got several estimates on the work I needed done, but when I saw the book of photos that Lance brought with him I was totally sold. Beautiful workmanship, quality, and design. Also his estimate was professional and detailed. Once we decided to go ahead we did have a little communication glitch,(could it have been my fault?) But Lance made things happen right away. His crew came out on time and were a real pleasure to have around. They got right to work and the new fence took shape. I was shocked at how beautiful and durable their work was. Every detail done accurately and with the best materials. It is a work of art! And the handrail looks perfect on this old house, and it too is of the best quality and workmanship. Build to last. I am completely happy with the work West-Meyer Fence did at my house.

Called for a quote was emailed the next day and service was scheduled for the following day. Showed up early and within an hour had the old post removed and replaced. Good work quickly. $175.

I came home one evening to find that someone had somehow managed to remove one of my wrought iron railings from my walkway. One side of the frame was knocked off with part of it still in the concrete and the other side looked like it had been lifted out of the concrete. This railing is about 4 feet high by 5 ft long and I was concerned that I would have to replace it because of the one end having been broken off. I called West Meyer Fence and talked with Molly and made an appointment with Lance for the following week. He looked at the railing and said he would be able to repair it instead of replacing it with a new railing. This railing and the one at the top of my porch are very old and had some rust. The coating was also wearing off in some places so I decided to have both of them redone. Lance gave me a quote for removing both railings, removing the rust and "repowdering" them. He had someone pick them up the next day. Several weeks later I came home and both railings had been reinstalled. They look great! The lower railing, which had been vandalized, was now reinforced with four bolts at each end instead of two bolts as previously installed. Shortly thereafter I received their bill. I am very happy with the work West Meyer Fence did and would not hesitate to recommend them. They did a great job and were very easy to work with.

Excellent - very professional, right the first time! Everything is still in working order. What's more is that West-Meyer Fence doesn't keep unearned money. One of the line items in the original estimate was not needed (according to the repairman). When I reported that to the company a refund check was issued (it did take some time).

The entire experience was great - the company is wonderful to work with and the team that performed the work was professional and experienced.

It was raining for most of their time here but they were able to complete the job on time and were able to explain what they were doing when I asked them questions. They ripped out the old fence and posts and built new ones. I love it.

I thought he was a very nice guy. The only thing was the estimate was a way higher than what all of the other estimates were and he was a little late in delivering the estimate. I was supposed to get it the next day but actually didn't receive it until the next week.
