"Loved there fnshed work. Had fifteen yards of concrete patio and a block wall bulit. They not only did great job but they spent the time doing it right. Not one crack in the concrete. They took care of dranige issues I did not even think of. Had a buddy go with a diffrent compney at the same time and his 10 yard patio is all cracked up. If you want it done right then go with Universal Landscaping."

"The work we had done by turnethy construction was very fast and precise, we had turnethy excavate and remove an old septic tank. Excavate and grade for the installation of a new one. Turnethy installed the new tank as per the plans. They showed up on time and came prepared. We have used him since with smaller projects and look forward to using them more in the future. Highly recommend, from a satisfied customer."

"Dillon Excavation just completed a grading and drain system project for me on my horse property, and his work was exemplary. He was conscientious, punctual, thorough, and knowledgeable. The final cost was exactly what he quoted, and he was a pleasure to work with. Dillon’s integrity is top notch, and I’d absolutely hire him again and again."

Customers say: Quick response

"Steve came out to my property a few times to talk over the project of clearing, grading, and filling a new driveway. He worked with me on what made the most sense for the final project details. Steve and his crew made very quick work installing the new driveway with a very clean and professional finish. I am ecstatic over how this project went. I definitely recommend them for anyone looking to get things done and I will absolutely be giving Steve a call in the future for any similar projects."

"I have had the pleasure of working with the owner of this excavation company on a residential project, and the service was exemplary. He went out of his way to help with the preparation of the house, making sure everything was in order before the continuation of work. Knowledgeable, efficient, and clear, he kept us updated every step of the way. The attention to detail and willingness to accommodate changed everything and were the reason I would highly recommend his services to anyone in need of reliable professional work."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

To drill a shallow well, you may be able to use a drive well point. This is a tapered point that is driven into the ground. A drill bit at the end of PVC pipe may be another option to consider. A lot of the cost depends on what tools are available near you.

Prior to excavation, you should prepare the dig site and call 311 before you sign anything.

To get your site ready for excavation, you should move anything in the area that isn’t affixed to the land. You can save money on the excavation by removing hardscaping, including walkways, decks, concrete patios, and paver patios.

Before you carry out any digging, you should call 311 to confirm that there are no utility lines running through your excavation site. Skipping this step could lead to severe injury and property damage if your excavator hits a water, sewage, or gas line.

You can bury underground electrical wire six inches deep—but only if you use a rigid metal electrical conduit. For rigid, non-metallic conduits, bury the wire at least 12 inches deep. If using an underground feeder cable rated for direct burial, you'll need to place it at least 18 inches deep, as it has no conduit for extra protection.

You do not have to dig footers for a deck as long as it meets local code and holds up to weather in your area. If you live somewhere that experiences high winds and earthquakes, you may need to dig for your deck posts. Deck blocks, post anchors with base plates, and helical pile systems are the three no-dig deck post options you can choose from if local code permits.

In the United States, a depth of 36 inches (three feet) for underground water lines is the accepted industry standard. This depth varies from location to location based on local conditions. In areas with colder winters, they may be buried deeper to prevent frozen well water pipes : This is usually at least six inches below the frost level. The International Plumbing Code calls for a minimum of 12 inches below grade.
