"Matthew is very professional in his approach and provided me with an excellent, well thought out bid within two days after I first contacted him. We now have a signed contract, and I have paid him a retainer. His schedule is busy, but he will begin demolition on my existing fence on April 23, 2023, and construction of my new fence immediately thereafter. I do not anticipate any problems. Update: August 2023. Matthew completed my fence in April, and did a wonderful job. His work is exacting and his customer service is A+. I would recommend Matthew highly."

"I wanted an older good neighbor fence demolished and replaced. Jacob understood what I wanted and was willing to make modifications in the middle of the project. I would not hesitate to hire him for other projects."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Many types of farm fencing can work well for your farm, but it depends on the type of animal you need to contain and the size of your property. If you want something quick and temporary, go with a metal T-post fence. If you need something that will last forever, go with a synthetic fence made of composite material or PVC. Electric and barbed wire fences are often chosen for docile livestock, like pigs and cows.

Generally, the height of your dog fence should be 3 times the distance from the ground to your dog’s shoulder. For most small breeds, a 4-foot high fence will be more than enough to keep them from jumping out. Medium-sized breeds like Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and German Shepherds will need at least a 5-6 foot fence to stay contained. Large breeds that are also excellent jumpers, such as Greyhounds, may need a 7-foot high fence.

Yes, in most places. A front yard fence is allowed by local zoning laws more often than not, but it always helps to check before building just to make sure. There may be restrictions around how tall the fence can be, what it can be made from, or where it can be built.

Concrete is one of the easiest, most cost-efficient, and most effective ways to stabilize a fence post. To stabilize a fence post with concrete, you’ll dig a hole around the post in question and fill it up with concrete—easy as that. Concrete lasts about 50 years on average, so it’s a long-term solution.

The average cost to install a fence is between $1,800 and $4,500. However, the price can vary significantly based on several factors. For a small DIY project, costs could be as low as $450, while fencing a large property like a 5-acre yard can exceed $43,000. Key factors that influence the total cost include the fence's size and height, the material used, the complexity of the design, site preparation needs, and any additional features like gates. The cost of raw materials, manufacturing, and custom fabrication can also impact the final price.
