"All services performed in an exemplary and timely manner. Appropriate and seasoned subcontractors were contacted, hired, and completed their tasks as assigned by Chris of Nonstop Construction. We were so pleased we hired this organization again for construction of a new barn, dirt and concrete work and have additional future projects planned for Nonstop Construction."

"They did a great job taking down my huge tree. I asked for the extra service of mulching the limbs and splitting all the wood into firewood and stacking. It looked like a very hard job but they saw it through and stuck it out to the end. All done in a day."

Aegis is a new business but the experience behind it is extensive , I (Tyler) have been in the construction industry for 12 years . I was an electrician for years before I decided to work in residential construction management. We are a new business so we are competitive with our pricing and we also have a name to make for ourselves in this industry so quality work is the name of our game. We specialize in remodeling, and insurance claims and restoration reconstruction. Give us the chance to take care of your home and we will deliver a quality job, great communication and great team that is easy to work with. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

"Kyle and his team showed up on time, worked quickly, and were professional throughout the process. The fence is high quality and exactly what I wanted. Price was very reasonable for the work done. Highly recommend them for a solid, reliable fence installation."

"We were referred to Matt/MBA Deck and Fence by a local lumber yard and were also able to see him on Angie's List. He was prompt in coming over to our home over a month ago and seemed knowledgeable about the various brands and types of composite decking materials. Unfortunately even after a number of texts exchanged we have yet to receive the quote now over a month past his visit. We can understand being busy and not able to bid at the time so the professional response would have been to inform us of that fact instead of indicating that he would quote- perhaps even offer later availability. Very disappointing especially since he received a glowing recommendation from a local lumber yard."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can use a floor jack to remove fence posts. Attach a stem to the base of the fence post so you can position the floor jack underneath. The stem can be a scrap piece of wood attached with nails or a sturdy nail itself. Put the jack beneath the stem and push the lever to lift up on the fence post and remove it from the ground.

To choose where to add a fence gate, know where fence gates shouldn’t go. For example, you should avoid placing gates over low spots on the ground where water can collect and form muddy puddles. Many ranchers install gates at the corner of a fence. Certain gate placements may also be required depending on the type of gate latch you use.

How long a fence lasts, including a split rail fence, will depend on the material from which it’s made. The average lifespan of a wood fence is about 15 to 20 years. However, split rail fences made out of premium materials, like composite, vinyl, steel, or aluminum, can last for 25 to 30 years or more, especially if you take good care of the material and carry out necessary maintenance.

Do you need a permit to build a fence if you are simply replacing an existing fence? Whether you need a permit in this case depends on your local laws and regulations. Most municipalities consider a fence replacement project as being equal to building a new fence, so you likely will need a permit. Check with your local building inspection department or zoning department to see if you need a permit. If you hire a local fence contractor, this pro can take care of obtaining all permits for you.

A stockade fence is a common type of privacy fence. These fences consist primarily of side-by-side boards without any gaps, thus eliminating the possibility of anyone peeking into your property. Stockade-style fences also typically included pointed pickets on top for even more security. Other than these traits, stockade fences come in a wide variety of styles.
