"First started working with Joe getting a quote got 2 bids which the other was cheaper, but decided to get ranger since Mitsubishi is the “top line” he said which I googled and saw it too. We talked that he will put the drainage on the car port and the vent on the side of the house. So when the date of installment came Daniel was on time and he introduce himself. I let him do his job while I was doing my own with my 3yrs and 5 yrs kids. The job was quick so when I check outside I saw that the vent was mounted on my carport. So I called Joe and ask why it was mounted on my carport he said it was in the contract which I didn’t see on the instruction. And so I have to pay if we move it. I was so disappointed! Now I can’t close my carport if I want to get a garage since vent is there. So I have no choice if only Daniel check with me first right from the start what the plan is then there will be no problem! Well the job was done got no choice. Another thing Daniel have to come back two times to fix the drainage since it keeps on leaking my carport. It was finally fixed on the 3rd time when Jared was the tech that fix it. It was so disappointing and I regret that I chose ranger cooking and heating!"

"Aaron Charles was our technician. He quickly diagnosed the condition as a faulty circuit board, called to have a co-worker bring a new one and got the furnace running like new. We were so impressed by how quickly he diagnosed the problem and corrected it. We will certainly use Mercurio's (and, hopefully, Aaron's) services again."

"Simon was very professional - he showed me pictures of interiors of the ducts and explained to me exactly what needs to be done and what doesn't need to be done. I ended up finding out that the fan inside the furnace had so much dust in it, even though a different company is supposed to have cleaned it up last year."

"Our furnace went out before Christmas - and we had issues with a home warranty service and calling around I found Taylor and from the first call they were so helpful and unlike other companies had been they were not dismissive of my questions and helped get me a service call the next day Donny showed up on time, got the right questions and diagnosed the issue right away , and won me as a customer with his pressure switch test! - he was very direct and honest about the situation and spent time explaining the damaged parts , he advised replacing the system due to age and future costs. I needed time to consider and follow up , not only did they respond for a new quotes , he followed up with me and was not pushy and was very concerned about getting my family heat for the cold - and thanks to Donny & Taylor's site for PSE energy loan we decided to replace the entire system. The Install team lead by Camryn Showed up IN THE SNOW right after Christmas and installed the entire new HVAC system (AC/Heat) and were professional and seemed to enjoy what they were doing even as it was freezing - and everything looks great and were On Time and got done fast but nothing looked rushed that I can see and we are enjoying the new system and already talked to others about this install already Can not say enough nice things about the Taylor Team and people working for them. They won our business"

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

If you want to have hot water in your home and part of your plumbing system, you'll need a hot water heater. An alternative may be to heat water as you use it, such as by boiling what you need on the stove. But that's much less efficient and takes considerably longer than hooking up a water heater. Another option is to rely on appliances, such as a dishwasher or washing machine, that heat the water themselves.

Yes. Boilers need water to run without overheating, also known as dry firing. If you run it without a sufficient volume of water, either because of a burst pipe or a leak, you run the risk of damaging your machine or jeopardizing the safety of your home as a whole. When in doubt, shut off your boiler and repair any plumbing issues before turning it back on. Alternatively, consider installing a low-water cutoff (LWCO) before any issues arise. This gadget will protect your boiler by monitoring water levels and automatically shutting it off if it gets too low.

Probably not. Moving a boiler to a new location is a very different prospect from replacing it in the same spot, and significantly more expensive. Plus, boilers are typically carefully positioned in proximity to pipes and radiators when installed. Homeowners may want to move boilers to free up space, prevent freezing problems that have happened in winter, or solve a noise issue—but it’s a much more costly proposition.

A common HVAC rule is that for every 500 to 600 square feet of living space, you need 1 ton of heating or cooling capacity. Now that you know this common rule, you also need to know that it isn’t very accurate, and a dedicated pro wouldn’t use it for your home. If you talk to a pro who won’t or can’t perform a proper Manual J calculation, consider hiring someone more thorough.

Most home boilers will need an expansion tank. That’s because these boilers are closed-loop systems, where the water is trapped. An expansion tank is needed when the boiler heats the water and it expands, allowing air to condense in the tank to make room for the water. Other types of boilers don’t use an expansion tank, such as traditional steam boilers, but these aren’t as common. And hot water tanks may be able to use a pressure release valve instead. When in doubt, call in a pro to take a look.
