Our main focus is, was, and always will be: service. That's why we are a favorite of do-it-yourselfers. Our product knowledge and willingness to take the time to show our customers how best to use our products makes all the difference. It's true that we are popular with a lot of contractors, but you get the same quality service even if you just need a light bulb!

"Chris and his staff are professional perfectionists! Work was scheduled and completed with a focus on perfection. The completed work was beautiful. The fence was built very sturdy and had a beautiful finished appearance. It looks amazing and his cost was spot on the bid. The removal of the tree and huge lilac bush with roots plus I would definitely hire Lehner Landscaping again!!"

GRO creates and maintains celebrated and award-winning landscapes for both residential and commercial clients. We thrive on innovation and collaboration, and our measure of success is determined by the accolades we receive from satisfied customers, not just in the awards we win.

"I had GRO perform three large projects on my 5 landscaped acres around my house in Oregon City. They started out well, and completed two of them without much in the way of complaints, but the third project they fumbled pretty badly at the end. I had them prep and install irrigation, lawn and planting beds to a little over an acre of land in my south lawn area. They hurried to apply the hydroseed in mid- to late-September 2022 to give the lawn time to establish before the Oregon rains arrived in late October, but did not have time to pre-water the dirt and then spray the weeds that would come up, a standard practice before hydroseeding. I questioned the job foreman about this, and was assured that they would return in the spring of 2023 to spray and kill the weeds that were not killed in the previous fall. Spring came, along with plenty of weeds, but GRO refused to honor their commitment. They also failed to install 3 or 4 sprinkler heads around the lawn east end, so now I have dead grass there, and they now also refuse to fix this problem."

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

Watering the lawn after aeration is crucial for getting the most benefits out of it. Not watering the lawn enough will cause the efforts of aeration to be in vain. Light and frequent watering will prevent the soil and grass seeds from drying out, but too much watering can create a muddy mess and wash the seeds away. Watering twice a day is a good benchmark.

Most businesses schedule services weekly or biweekly to maintain a professional appearance and healthy lawn.

In most municipalities, landscaping companies require a business license to operate legally, and some require additional licenses, like general contractor licenses. You can use Angi's our contractor licensing tool to confirm if a company in your area holds the necessary licensing. Equally as important as the license is insurance. Before hiring any lawn care company, you should confirm that it is fully insured. This measure protects you from lawsuits, and it also protects the employees in the case of an injury or unemployment.

Services typically include mowing, edging, trimming, and debris cleanup. Additional options may consist of fertilization and weed control.

The easiest way to rough up soil to accept grass seed and provide the best opportunity for its growth is to make several passes over the area with a garden tiller and rake away the loosened vegetation and debris. However, in some cases, very hard ground may require using a shovel or pick to break up pieces into smaller chunks that the tiller can handle more easily.
