"They are just phenomenal. We had another water softener company in the past which was not as good as them even though it was a nationwide company. No complaints at all. Dave has been extremely responsive and a great person to work with. I would recommend them highly. Their equipment uses less salt than others. Terrific equipment and delivered as advertised."

"Kinetico Water Systems Of Inland NW came out and gave me good advice about the system. Their testing results were accurate. He educated my husband and I. He installed the system that my husband had set his sight on even though we did not need it and he educated us about how we didn't need it. He respected my husbands choice and put in the system. He did an excellent job.

"Greg is an outstanding inspector who helped us pull an offer from the first home we tried buying and helped us pull the trigger on buying the second. His work has helped us prioritize what needs to be done first, and postpone optional upgrades (we bought a 100-year-old house). He is a master of understanding the house's structural integrity, safety hazards, and moisture/water control. I would highly recommend him and our agent has already started recommending him regularly. If you are looking for the most thorough, straight-shooting, no-nonsense inspector, Greg is your guy. We also got a nice PDF outlining everything that is super easy to read while being incredibly detailed."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

Generally, it is safe to bathe in yellow water, as the color is often caused by iron, tannins, or rust, which won't harm your skin. Soap will still clean you effectively, though the water might leave stains. However, if the water has an unusual smell or you suspect contamination, avoid bathing and contact a plumber for an inspection. A professional can also help if you find bathing in yellow water problematic and want to determine how to get your water clear again.

While it depends on how complicated the unit and installation is, it takes two to four hours to install a water softener unit, on average. It might take longer if pipes need to be replaced. You should make sure the installation area is clear of any objects that might get in the way before you begin.

A good hardness level for drinking water can vary based on personal preferences, but an ideal level is 3.5 to 7 GPG. This means your water isn’t soft or hard. However, some people prefer the “fresh” taste from the minerals in hard water, while others like the smoother, “slippery” texture of soft water.

Softener systems extend appliance life spans, improve skin and hair health, and reduce pipe buildup by removing minerals like calcium and magnesium.

Water softeners have many benefits. The most important one is converting previously hard water—water with too many minerals—to more usable, easier water. When we say easier water, we mean water that’s easier to digest, less harsh on skin and clothes, and builds up less in the water system. Softer water may lead to lower energy costs and will extend the lifespan of all appliances that use water.
