When my toilet backed up Hilliard’s did the excavation to find the source of the problem. When it was discovered that there was a break in the sewer that was caused by someone else, Chuck immediately found out who had caused the problem, contacted the company, arranged for them to repair the damage and to reimburse me the very next day, and called me to keep me in the loop. Michelle in accounting was also very patient with my worries about getting billed right away so I could get paid back quickly. Thanks, Chuck and Michelle!

Awful! My HVAC condenser fan blew out and I had Zero heat; I have a huge list of grievances with this company so prepare yourselves.... 1) The company told me they could send someone over for 85$ an hour (plus 6.63 for sales tax) and start charging me the moment their technician leaves the shop... 2) I had family over and the technician arrived as soon as my Sister opened the door and was leaving my home. without promping his arrival the technician walked right past my family as they tried to squeeze past him in the doorway and announces himself with "I am here for the beer!" And was tattooed from His fingers up to his throat. Seriously, a stranger walked into my home and said that! I looked at him in disbelief and demanded, "who are you!?" He laughed and said nothing! I ASSUMED he must have been the guy that was sent to look at my HVAC and after I asked him a second time he finally asked me where my system was. I followed him like a hawk. I knew right away that it was going to be trouble. I regretted CALLING hillards immediately. 3) After calling and telling them my hvac was broken, the technician took 3 minutes to tell me the same thing I already knew. He said he was going to find the parts and get me a quote. He opened one pannel took a picture and charged me 91.63 for his 3 minutes! He called me at 8:30 pm to tell me it would be 600$ in parts plus an undetermined amount of labor! I had to call another company to get the help I needed and after a few moments on the phone they told me that the condenser fan SHOULD NOT have even been on during the winter and they told me how to turn it off to get heat restored within moments!! Thank goodness for the other company, they saved my family from below freezing temperatures without paying them a cent! They even offered to send someone out for free to flip the breaker outside if I was to worried to do it myself! There is a pandemic going on, and many of us are out of work! My family has small children and freezing to death is a serious concern.. WE HAD ZERO HEAT FOR DAYS BECAUSE OF HILLARDS! the technician that came and went without any compassion or communication! STAY AWAY from HILLIARDS!

When I told a friend that I had lined-up Hilliard's for plumbing and furnace work, he grimaced, saying, "They over-charge." Because of his warning, I almost canceled the service calls, but positive reviews on Angie's List convinced me to give the company a chance. Now, I wish I hadn't. Based on my experience, Hilliard's does, indeed, over-charge; and the quality of their work is less than stellar. I have no serious qualms with the technician's, themselves, who were friendly and appeared qualified. The furnace repairman knew his Carrier furnace and performed honest labor. However, the furnace was exceptionally dirty and should have received a thorough cleaning. The little hand brush used to sweep-out some dust did not adequately address the issue. A canister vacuum should have been used, as furnace technicians from other companies had employed before. In this instance, Hilliard's did not have, or at least did not use, the right equipment. As regards the plumbing work, Hilliard's sent out two men for what should have been a one-man job. The repairs were not complicated; one person could have easily accomplished the work. (In my 30 years of being a home owner, I've never had more than one plumber be sent to complete a service call; some jobs being much more involved than the one at issue). The furnace technician spent one hour on premises doing his work. The plumber and his helper were also on site for only one hour. Yet I was billed for 5.5 hours labor: the additional "labor" being driving vans approximately 10 miles each way, to and from the service address. I'm sorry: it doesn't take 2.5 hours to traverse the miles involved; and that driving -- in my book, and by prior experience with other companies -- certainly shouldn't be charged at the full, professional rate. (In contrast, Nolan Heating, out of Colfax, WA, does excellent work and only adds a minimal charge for traveling out of the regular service area: $9.00 to travel 20 miles out-of-area on their last service call.) Be advised, if you plan to hire Hilliard's Heating and Plumbing, you'll be paying the full professional rate of $85-an-hour for them to travel to and from the work site. Also be aware, the time for travel will likely be exaggerated beyond explanation. And the quality of work may well be marginal, as it was in my case. We all have that sixth-sense to know when we have received honest service from a company, and when a company's overriding reason for being is to make a buck. By my assessment, Hilliard's Heating and Plumbing falls into this latter category. I have paid my bill, but I will not be providing the payee my future business or referrals. There are better companies in the region to deal with.

They were responsive and professional. It was a 30 year old water heater. They replaced only what needed replaced and brought it up to code when they put in the new one. My son's schedule is very busy between work and college. They worked with me while I was still in Texas to set up a time that would work while I was going to be in town for a few days visiting him. They were reasonably priced. Would definitely use them again.

They were professional, quick, and knowledgable. They went beyond the work required to help me find the source of a leak in our basement (which wasn't a plumbing leak, but surface water hitting a crack next to the house).

Very fast, and he even cleaned out the tub a little afterwards since it hadn't been in use for a while.

They were great. On time, on budget and over delivered. They had smart suggestions to overcome problems always keeping in mind what it would eventually cost. Not cheap, but worth the cost.

Dustin and assistant came within an hour of my call. Was a pleasant and professional man to have in our home. He took care of the problem efficiently and with a minimum of fuss. Dustin was friendly and easy to visit with. We will phone Hilliard Plumbing if we have problems in the future.

We needed our furnace serviced and a new toilet to replace an old one. Like all providers they have a one-hour work time minimum, but because we were getting both services, they grouped our total time together to minimize cost. The furnace service only took 20 minutes, so I'm grateful to not spend the full hourly rate. The plumber, Paul, was particularly great. He tried to save us money by replacing only the necessary parts (the tank), which would have also saved over half of the install time. However, the current model didn't fit with our 10-yr old bowl, so he had to end up replacing the whole thing. I appreciate his efforts and speed (1 hr, 10 min) at the task!
On a previous job, he and a colleague fixed a leak in our basement. It was a huge bummer for us because what we thought was leaky valve ended up being 6 feet of cracked pipe. They were very professional and left the area very clean after having to cut out a large section of our wall and replace the pipe up into the ceiling. They were respectful and kind the whole time when delivering the bummer news!

The first time they came, the person said it was an easy fix and that it was the overflow on the bathtub. But, my daughter took a shower the next day and the ceiling downstairs was wet again. So I called Hilliards again, and they came back with two guys. These two seemed more professional and knowledgeable. They did manage to fix the issue and I had someone else patch the downstairs ceiling. Hilliards did comp the original visit. So, while it was not perfect, they did make up for the original misdiagnosis.

Very well. Called at 11:00am and they had repair done by 5:00pm. The experience was satisfactory and well done. The associate was friendly and cleaned up after himself. Would call again.

They are very good. They came last year on Christmas day and then they had to come back between Christmas day and New Year. They really got into some major work. They are a little expensive but they come in and get things completely correct and don't leave a mess. They clean up after themselves. I would grade them A's on all categories.
