"4 hyberheat mistubishi mini splits (2 of them extra powerful) and a great outdoor unit $30k 4 years free financing Far better deal than Blue Flame and others and no sleezy salesman tactics. Service was good too. A broken seal meant water was getting into the basement. They came in 18 minutes and fixed is super fast!"

"Working with Smart Electric, Heating & Air was VERY easy. Joe was very easy to work with in creating the bid with just a few pictures, scheduling the work, and keeping me up to date throughout the process. Jason, the lead installer for my specific job was wonderful around communication on how things work, and how they would operate in the space. Jason and his team did a great job with the install, even through some hiccups. I absolutely plan to continue to do business with Joe and his team. Thank you for a job well done!"

"Innovation HVAC did an absolutely amazing job replacing my heat pump. What I loved most was how communicative they are. When I received my quote it didn?t seem like I was getting upsold and charged more than I needed to be compared to other companies. I highly recommend them to everyone and I will be hiring them again for any future project"

"We hired Rusty and his crew to install mini splits for AC and heating. They were professional, friendly, worked diligently and left the house spotless. We highly recommend Rusty and his company to do the job with precision and expertise. We had been putting this off for way too long and are so happy with the decision to upgrade our house and to make it immediately comfortable on these hot summer days."

Air Conditioning questions, answered by experts

Yes, it's normal for air conditioners to leak tiny amounts of water due to condensation. Under normal circumstances, all excess moisture travels to the drain pan to be pumped through your system's drain line. You should call a technician to diagnose the issue if you're noticing frequent leaking or pooling. It's also important to investigate if your homeowners insurance can cover water damage.

No. Evaporator coils are designed to work with specific refrigerant types, and they are rated by what kinds of refrigerant they use. It’s indicated with an “R” code. It’s important to match your evaporator coil and refrigerant or your system will not work properly. An AC technician can tell you what type of refrigerant your system needs and what evaporator coils will work with it.

In most cases, you should hire a professional to carry out services on your HVAC system, as the components are complicated, expensive, and potentially dangerous to work with. However, there are a few things you can do on your own to keep your HVAC system in good condition, including changing your filters every three months, keeping the area around your outdoor condenser clear of debris and plant growth, making sure your or intakes aren’t blocked, and keeping an eye out for increased energy bills, strange noises, and unusual odors related to your equipment.

Most HVAC surge protectors last about three to five years, depending on how often your home experiences blackouts or brownouts. If your unit is susceptible to more frequent electrical surges, consider replacing your surge protector every two years. Consult your HVAC professional to determine when and how often to replace your HVAC surge protectors.

The outdoor portions of air conditioners are designed to weather the rain, so you don’t need to worry about it. An awning or roof will help protect them from snow or falling debris, which can do more damage. This is true of both window AC and outdoor units for larger systems.
