"I hired upper left handyman services to come repair my fence. Chris did an amazing job for a good price. He made sure my animals could still go outside while he did the fence and was super nice. I would call back for any repairs needed!"

"Avery at the NW Guys was fantastic. I wanted to fence off my backyard which requires 500ft of fencing. I had specific ideas for certain sections and needed 3 gates. I also wanted the fence up by a certain date. After the first consultation for the quote, I knew Avery was the right man for the job. Avery got the fence done on time and all along he would present me with options/ideas for how things can look. For the 3 gates, two were custom built and the other is a larger cattle gate he attached Hogwire to. I couldnâ t be happier with my fence and the work he put in. He is a master and his craft and also just a good person. I will definitely be calling him again for other projects. I cannot recommend him enough!"

"All Peaks Roofing and Construction built a beautiful cedar fence for our new home. Ryan included some customized features to the fence without hesitation and was very helpful in the design process. He was extremely reliable and conscientious. We hadn't yet moved to the area so he sent us pictures and video of his progress each day. We are very happy with the work they did for us."

"Mike his professional and very thoughtful. There was some wood we had boughten from a vendor and some of it wasn't aesthetically pleasing. Mike immediately loaded in his truck came up to me and said I'm bringing this back and switching it out for better wood. That kind of service you can't get anywhere else besides Mike an upper left fencing. You won't find a better man to put your fence in."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

Goats need at least 250 square feet of space each, but that’s if you’re also supplementing hay. Since goats are social animals, you’ll want to avoid renting only one goat, which would take a long time to clear your land, anyway. Instead, opt for at least two goats per 500 square feet of land. Most rental companies will only rent out goats by the acre, but check your local goat rental companies to see if they make exceptions.

A horizontal fence is typically more expensive to build than a vertical fence, often costing between 10% and 20% more. The higher cost is due to the need for a higher grade of lumber and more posts to prevent the boards from sagging, which increases both material and labor expenses. Despite the higher price, horizontal fences tend to be more durable and offer a more distinct, modern look compared to the more common vertical picket style. However, they may not be the best option for privacy, as there can be slight gaps between the horizontal rails.

Many types of farm fencing can work well for your farm, but it depends on the type of animal you need to contain and the size of your property. If you want something quick and temporary, go with a metal T-post fence. If you need something that will last forever, go with a synthetic fence made of composite material or PVC. Electric and barbed wire fences are often chosen for docile livestock, like pigs and cows.

Wattle fences are typically around 4 feet tall, but they can be built taller or shorter depending on their intended use. Taller fences may require additional reinforcements, such as thicker posts or tighter weaving, to ensure the fence’s stability and durability against wind and other elements.

Issues include rust, loose posts, and damaged mesh. Regular maintenance prevents significant problems.
