"James and his crew at Cox Custom Remodeling did a great job with our bathroom remodel. Our house was built in 1900 and the nonstandard framing made things more complicated. His lead, Dan was particularly great, taking the extra time to understand components we picked that were new to him. James always had a positive attitude, showed up when he indicated and got things done. Low dust, protection for floors and respect for the rest of the house while the construction was going on. James also provided the best tile guy, Eugene, that did a fantastic job with natural stone and the complicated very fragile mosaic. We would definitely use Cox Custom Remodeling again. "Last November we hired Steve and his crew from Steveâ s Home services to do a complete remodel of our main living areas of our home. This included the bathroom, 2nd bathroom, kitchen, family and living room. They installed new wood floors in a lot of areas, tile floor in bathroom, tile inlay in entry, and a pony wall by front entry. Two main walls were removed between the family and living areas. A full kitchen tear out and everything new was installed including the cabinets. They are a wonderful personable group of hard working contractors to work with. Their work is top quality! We had them in our home for about 5 weeks. We didnâ t have to move out because they cleaned up everyday and protected our furniture with coverings. We will hire them again for phase 2 to remodel our master bathroom."

"Summary: The entire experience was excellent. Good communication throughout the process, and they did exactly what they said. They did the demolition on the cabinets, countertop, and backsplash, refaced some existing cabinets, and added a lot of custom cabinetry, along with a quartz countertop. The price was under 1/2 of what several other companies quoted. Price: They charged us under half of what some other companies quoted. However, it's not quite apples to apples, because those other companies folded in everything (plumbing, electrical, etc). I did some prep work myself to demo the existing island, and arranged the plumber and electrician myself. I ended up saving over $20k all told. What they do: They removed existing cabinets based on our contract, removed the existing tile backsplash and repaired the dry wall so that it was "tile ready". They installed custom cabinets (much higher quality than the existing boxes), faced all the cabinets to make the transitions from older boxes to new ones undetectable, added the new island and countertop. They replaced all doors with soft close hinges, and all of the new drawers also have soft close slides. The new cabinetry is very well made, real wood boxes, and high quality materials. What I did: before they came out, I took out the existing island. I also arranged for plumbing and electrical, as needed, and repaired the floor around the new island. After they left, I tiled the backsplash, installed the open shelving, and put soft close drawer slides in the old drawers to match the new ones. Timeline: Once we put down our deposit, we waited just about 5 months, which was a bummer. But once they started, they were true to their word and were done within 8 days. Results: We ended up with a really nice kitchen. The layout makes a lot more sense, and we essentially doubled the amount of usable counterspace. The cabinets and drawers are all soft close, and while we did put in some open shelves, we ended up netting about the same amount of cabinet storage with the addition of the new lowers along the wall and the much larger island. Other odd notes: We have two cats and two giant dogs, and needed access to the kitchen space during the remodel. They were really good about keeping doors closed and keeping the area tidy at the end of each work day. We planned to not use the kitchen during the remodel, but they did indicate that they would work with us if we had to."

"Jeremy and crew are wonderful to work with - our entire family loved having them around. Our highest exterior wall is near 30’ from the ground, but Seattle Paint and Design’s experience and quality were more than up to the challenge. Beautiful masking work on all protected surfaces kept any spray blow back out. Our house is painted with the finest quality paint, no bubbles, cracks, or peeling after 1 year. Their thoroughness with second coats where needed and touch ups provided us with a perfect finish, and our house still looks amazing!"

"We used American Crawlspace extensively, dealing with insulation for our attic, crawlspace, and rodent exclusion, for around 8k of work. Our experience went from 5/5, to 1/5, and settled on 3/5. First, the good things. The folks working at American Crawlspace, especially their managers and inspectors, are very nice, thoughtful individuals. Their price is excellent, especially for rodent exclusion, which is 2-3x under what another well rated competitor might charge. Now, our opinion on the not so good parts. The work for rat exclusion had lots of misses - the foundation mesh covers were installed with gaps that were big enough to allow a rat in after installation, and one vent cover was not replaced at all, and other similar issues abounded. Unless you examine all the areas yourself, or hire an inspector to validate, we suspect that similar issues will exist for you. It turned out to be a low quality patch job for the parts that were done. Fast forward to 3 years later, and a rat decided to take advantage of this and enter our home at night, which we recorded on a camera. We got both American Crawlspace, and another company, to identify what needed to be done, and both inspections identified issues and gaps with the exclusion work previously done. The American Crawlspace owners offered a refund on the pest exclusion work at this point, which was a nice thing to do considering that it was past their warranty period. But given that we did this work preventatively, it's sort of like having the mechanic refund your oil change when it turns out used the wrong kind and the engine breaks down. To be fair, they did also offer to review the work again and fix it if we preferred that, but based on an updated analysis of what they thought needed to be done. This might seem reasonable, until we consider that their inspection identified only some of the issues of the more thorough other inspection. In addition, using better quality materials to prevent failures, such as $50 worth of metal flashing, to fix some plywood joints we had previously paid to have secured by them and which had now failed was considered overkill. On offer was essentially what sounded much like another patch job. This brings to mind that old saying fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. For rat exclusion work, we fooled ourselves into believing that it was possible to get good quality work done at a good price. We got exactly what we paid for."
