They get a B, but only because the attention to detail by the installer was frustrating and he made some dumb mistakes. Was in a hurry to complete the project and cut corners on the finish work. Applied the new hardware using channel locks and knicked/marred the hardware with gouges and grooves. Forced the hardware screws thru the new cabinet doors and blew out the wood on the inside of the doors. didn't finish all the leading edges. didn't tape off the undersides of the granite countertops before applying the finish all over them. Didn't protect the hardwood floor before dragging the refrigerator across it and scratching the floor.
Submitted the punchlist and they were very responsive on making it right, and taking care of all the issues. Had a special person come to take care of the hardwood floor damage and another come to install the new doors and take care of the other punchlist items. However when the second installer showed up to do the clean up work, he didn't arrive with a list of what he was supposed to do, and ended up not cleaning the underside of the granite, which left us to do it, or we would have had to take more time off work for them to come back again (3rd time).
the refacing is beautiful, the cabinets look great. But it was a process to get there. They took care of the issues we found, and were very professional and polite. They paid for the hardware to be replaced with new, and reinstalled it.
Make sure you inspect everything before you sign off on the project. look above, look under, look inside. open all the drawers and the cabinets. make sure they protect your surfaces.
my husband could not be present at the initial meeting, so I had to decide on the color of the cabinets on my own. Realizing I was t comfortable with my decision a few days after, Mike kindly came to our home again when my husband and daughter could be involved in the decision. Our daughter is an architect and her opinion on the quality of the sample cabinets and color decision was very important to me. We did change our color decision and The next step was Mike Schatz, Project Manager, came out to do all the measuring. Once the cabinets were complete the install date was set.
Our installer Brandon arrived the first morning right on time. Every day he arrived when he said he would, patiently answered any questions my husband and I had, and took great care with our home. The project took 5 days to complete. We were very pleased with his work, and would recommend Heritage Homecraft to any of our friends and family.
