Customers say: True professional

"I have had granite and marble installed at my place of business and at my home on several occasions. Normally I use a large well-known installer to do my work. These guys are better than anyone I have had in the last 25 years doing installations for me. They are a small company and they aim to please. Their level of skill and their dedication to customer service is second to none. You get more from them than what you pay for. I cannot say enough good words about these people. They are just truly great. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. I feel very fortunate to have found them. Ivan, David and Melvin, from the bottom of my heart I say thank you very very much! Hope to see you again soon !! Thank you so very much for such a beautiful and wonderful job."

"When we viewed the damage to our kitchen floor, walls, and cabinets from leaky pipes under the sink, our hearts sank. How could we handle such a large project? Because we are in our late 80’s, we called our sons about the matter and one of them said he’d call Angie’s List because he had gotten good help from you folks himself. The name Eric Vanderlip showed up on the screen as a highly rated contractor and he lived close to us. A quick call brought him out the following day. He told us because of COVID, getting materials and workers to do the work would be difficult, but that he was willing to take on the job. So began the restoration of our kitchen. We noticed Eric going out of his way at every turn to make it as easy as possible for us. Often he brought samples for us to check out, so we wouldn’t need to shop and perhaps expose ourselves to the COVID virus. How good it is to see our kitchen back in place, looking even better than before. We recommend Eric Vanderlip highly to our friends and family. In fact, we have Eric returning this summer for another job. Thank you, Angie’s List for providing good workers for a much needed service."

"My "new-old" floors are better than I ever could have imagined. George and his crew were on time, on budget, on target and created such beauty in my home that I don't want to move my furniture back in. I needed several patches, and all look seamless with the original floor. He brought new life to my 1936 fir, and created a continuous flow with the 2004 oak. He even came after hours to do a last-minute patch I needed. He is conscientious, respectful and gracious. His employees are the same. I would never go to any other floor team. Ever."

"Otto and his team (Blase, Carlos and Welman) were awesome! I met Otto randomly on my block while he was working on a neighbor’s apartment. He came up and measured and gave me a quote on the spot which was fair and reasonable compared to other bids. Otto and the team were professional, helpful, went above and beyond the call of duty (even helped me fix a problem with my oven) and overall did incredible work. They were super speedy (~500sq ft took them just 2 days to complete) including some heavy hauling away of granite tiles. They worked cleanly, masterfully, and were super communicative all day while I was at work, keeping me informed as the work progressed. I would encourage anyone to use their service, and would be happy to recommend them to a friend or family member. Thank you Otto and team, I love my floors!!"

"After watching youtube how-to videos, I decided to hire out for my '66 white oak refinishing and repairs. Mike replied within a few hrs whereas the other two companies tooks days or never replied to my quote request. Mike was amazingly efficient, and was there from 8-5 or later working hard! He was kind and patient with our many questions as we observed his work. During the estimate and after the first sanding, he offered several solutions to damaged areas at levels of cost, since one area didn't sand away the damage as I hoped. He kept his work areas tidy. The floors looks amazing and I couldn't be more pleased with the work!"

"I've worked with different contractors before, but this was truly a different level of service From the first conversation, I felt like they genuinely cared about getting the flooring and painting done the right way. The floor repair came out flawless leveled, reinforced, and finished with precision. The painting was done with incredible attention to detail; the walls look smooth, bright, and professionally blended."

"Bath Conversion owner Kevin visited me and listened patiently what I wanted. I wanted to replace the bathtub for the soaked one and add to the shower. Total cost was fair. Once he had a tub, he contacted me then they worked so hard, had almost done in one day. The second day was just finishing and took less than one hour. They cleaned everything. They were very friendly and very professional. I strongly recommend this company to others. Thank you, Kevin."

Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

Using water when cutting stone drastically reduces the amount of dust that comes off the stone. It’s beneficial to cut down on the amount of dust for respiratory and other safety reasons, such as keeping your vision clear while using an electric tool. Even with protective eyewear, the dust can still cloud your safety glasses. You should always wear protective gear when cutting stone.

No, you should not put a hot pan or pot directly on a quartz countertop. While quartz is generally heat-resistant, the resin binders used in its manufacturing are sensitive to extreme heat from items exceeding 150 degrees Fahrenheit. This can damage the resin, leading to discoloration, burns, or even cracking. To prevent permanent damage, always use trivets or hot pads for hot cookware.

In most cases, chipped or cracked granite can be salvaged, but it depends on the size and scope of the damage. For example, a pro can smooth out small chips on the edge with polish pads or an angle grinder, but a crack that runs through the stone's surface has little-to-no chance of being fixed easily.

Marble countertops can last from 20 to 100 years, making them an excellent choice for anyone looking for durability. The life span depends on several factors, including how well you take care of your marble countertops. Marble is a porous material, so it can require more upkeep than other countertop options.

The frequency for sealing granite countertops depends on several factors, including the type of sealant used, the color of the granite, and how heavily the countertops are used. As a general guideline, resealing is often recommended every 12 to 18 months, but some sources suggest it could be as often as every few months or at least once a year.

The type of sealant is a major factor: water-based sealants may need reapplication every six months to a year, while more durable solvent-based sealants can last for five to 10 years. Additionally, factors like heavy kitchen traffic, frequent use of acidic cleaners, and lighter granite colors may require more frequent sealing to prevent staining.

To determine if your countertops need resealing, you can perform a simple water test. Place a few drops of water or a wet paper towel on an inconspicuous area of the granite. After 10 to 15 minutes, check the spot. If the water has beaded up, the seal is still intact. If the water has been absorbed and darkened the stone, it's time to apply a new coat of sealant. You can choose to seal the granite yourself or hire a professional to ensure it's done correctly.
