"Joe did a solid job of removing over 100 linear feet of asbestos pipe insulation and another 200 sq ft of asbestos linoleum from my 100-year old house. Professional, fair price (consistent with other bids), and much more flexible on scheduling right away. He's a bit casual in communications and invoicing. I had to ask for the following asbestos lab reports. But I was more than happy that he could take care of all this on short notice."

"Fantastic company and an even better work crew. They did a complete mold remediation of our crawlspace. Removed existing insulation, did mold remediation, installed new insulation and insulated all of our duct work and replaced vapor barrier. Workers were professional throughout the entire process. Thanks Jo, will definitely recommend!!"

"Pascale was super detailed and only tests and checks for mold but does not do remediation so there is no conflict of interest in trying to sell additional services. I would highly recommend if you are looking for honest assessment of issues"

"Tina and Crew are thorough professionals. Tina is prompt communicator and goes above and beyond to make things happen. I got in touch with her for some testing and then further abatement. She gave a fair assessment of the work and provided me different options. When the day of work came up, she and crew showed up on time, cordoned off the site and left it in a good condition. One of the things needed further attention and they were also very quick to show back up. I'd totally use their services in future and recommend them."

Biohazard Remediation questions, answered by experts

Slime mold isn’t toxic to your dog, even if they eat it. Toxicity and comfort are two different things, and if you notice your dog eating slime mold, you should stop them, but not worry too much. Expect a period of gastrointestinal distress, and possibly some other complications, but your dog should be ok within a few days.

Yes, it is generally unhealthy and can be dangerous to live in a damp basement. The damp air can negatively affect your breathing and lungs, and the moisture promotes mold growth and pest infestations. Inhaling mold spores or waste particles from insects and rodents attracted to the moisture can be hazardous. This damp, moldy air can also circulate into your main living area. It is crucial to resolve any moisture problems and implement preventative measures before using your basement as a living space.

Water damage occurs when your property or items suffer damage due to excess and unwanted water or moisture. The water could be present due to a natural disaster such as a hurricane or a burst pipe—water damage can be caused by many things. If necessary, contact a local water damage restoration company.

Yes, burning wood with Dutch elm disease is a safer way to dispose of it than, say, tossing it in with the rest of your yard waste, which could potentially allow it to spread to healthy trees. But it’s always a good idea to check with your local government to make sure you’re complying with any ordinances about removing diseased trees as well as burning brush piles.

Yes, mold can grow under your shower tiles if they aren’t thoroughly waterproofed. Even if you have a durable, non-porous tile material, water can make its way through grout or gaps around the edges of the shower. This will slowly erode the grout, which can cause tiles to come loose. It can also trap moisture behind tiles, and within a day or two, mold and mildew can rapidly grow.
