As of 11/13 I am back in VT having completed repairs to friends, family and others in FL and will be taking on projects here in VT again. I am scheduled back in FL for a couple of weeks in February to do some site work for a new build but plan on being in VT until Dec 25. I provide, Carpentry, decks, painting, vinyl siding, window & door replacement, flooring, concrete work & repairs. From new to repair services to renovations. I am a trained Mill & House Carpenter, Graduated from BVT in 1984, after a 2 years active service I returned home to the reserves and began my Construction Career. I have overseen projects up to $100million in value, in 2016 I/we started a new venture of buying and re-habilitating campgrounds in GA & FL. I am now semi-retired and decided to provide quality affordable small construction services. In the very near future I will be providing certified home inspections as soon as testing is completed. If you have a project that needs to be done, give me a call and we can get it done. Please when contacting let me know the scope of work, "type of work as well as 1, room, 2 rooms, etc, typr of room kitchen, bath, closet, etc." this will aid in my preparation to ask pertinent questions as well as limit the back and forth emails and speed up time for us both. While flat and satin finishes are ideal for garage or front doors, siding, and trim, gloss and semi-gloss are more common on shutters. That’s because these types of finishes highlight this proportionally smaller exterior home feature, adding both contrast and layers of texture to the overall facade. Other types of finishes aren’t off limits, but you’ll have more success by choosing one that provides a nice sheen. 

Streaky trim paint can result from several factors, including improper application techniques and insufficient coats. If you use a brush too large or damaged, you’re more likely to get uneven coverage. Always fill gaps before painting for the most professional results. Gap-filling materials such as caulk and wood filler require primer and paint to match surrounding surfaces, so addressing gaps during your painting project ensures consistent color and finish throughout the room.

You can hide wallpaper seams when painting by applying joint compound over them and then sanding thoroughly until smooth. You’ll want to apply two layers of compound, allowing for four to eight hours between coats. Do a light sanding between coats and then after the final coat is dry. Once the compound dries completely, you can begin priming and painting the wall.
