I can highly recommend Kevin Benedict. His attention to detail and communication are really impressive. Kevin did a major remodel for us and despite supply delays, his final cost was spot on with his original estimate. I plan to use Kevin for more work in the future.

Kevin Benedict's projects included the replacement of exterior doors and hardware, refinishing hardwood flooring and seamlessly patching wood flooring where needed, installing finished wood trim/molding, painting, staining and the construction of a wall of built-in bookcases. The finished carpentry work was excellent. He is a reliable self starter, as I was mostly absent from the home while he completed the projects. He maintained a clean work site, was transparent with all the material purchasing, billing and overall costs and kept me up to date regarding the project via phone calls and photos. I highly recommend his services. I attached a photo to this review of his finished bookcases.

The house was neglected for a while (see the picture of it in white) and badly peeling with lead paint underlayers. Kevin, (who is lead certified) was hired to replace rotting boards, insulate and encapsulate the lead with siding and replace 16 windows. The house looks so much better as you can see from the pictures I have provided (and is now much safer.)

We are thrilled with our newly repaired house! Kevin handled a variety of serious water damage problems efficiently, while communicating and listening well. We expected to lose our front deck, which had been improperly attached, but all that is fixed and ready to use. Kevin also built us a nice back porch. The big deal is that our house, which had been taking on unseen water damage for years, is now safe and secure. We are very happy with Kevin's work and I will definitely call him if I ever need more work done.

We hired Kevin from Benedict Building Company to renovate our house in Warren, Vermont. The project included a challenging replacement of a spiral metal staircase with a traditional wooden staircase in a very limited amount of space. Kevin found solutions to all of the challenges along the way and built a great staircase that is much safer and easier to navigate. They also: • Removed a wall • Installed new wood floors, refinished existing floors • built a custom closet • built a custom shelf • installed tiles in the mudroom Kevin was great at communicating status of the project and always kept things on track and on budget.

Kevin came in and picked up the job that was abandoned by a previous individual. We were in a time crunch and he came in and got as to the finish line. I would not have been able to finish without him as I could only come up on the weekends, and I do not have the skills for most of the work that he did. He hung a bunch of interior doors, installed a front door, tiled an entryway, patched some walls, and a few other items that I can't recall right now. Kevin made sure to always communicate with me as to what was going on. And he tries his best at telling me what was going on from 200 miles away.

Benedict builders were excellent at finding contractors (electrician, tilers, painters, plumbers, radiator specialists) to work on the project. Kevin kept us up to date on timelines and managed the other contractors really well. Whilst we were not living at the condo during the week, Kevin made sure we were up to date on progress and keeping to the timeline. He also made sure the condo was clean and safe for us to use at the weekends whilst work was being done. We are very happy with the end result and it was done to a high standard. I would not have a problem recommending Kevin to others, a really nice person to work with.

Kevin was very responsive and professional from the first consultation for the estimate to the final stages of the project. He was patient as my husband and I evaluated contractors and asked lots of questions. He worked with us remotely as we do not live full-time in Vermont. Between text messages, emails and phone calls, Kevin kept us in the loop on how the project was going and he sent pictures along the way. Kevin was also invaluable in identifying, contacting, and scheduling the other contractors needed to complete the project (insulation and roofing).

Kevin Benedict provided exceptional professional service, from our first email through Angie's List right through the final cleanup. He provided a free estimate and the final project came in UNDER cost (and I got his Angie's List discount)! He was consistently responsive, setting my expectations at each step in the process. I never had to wonder how things were going! He provided updates, including photos, throughout the construction, most of which was completed when I was not on site. He was exceptionally patient and thoroughly answered all my questions and concerns.
He consulted with me on every detail of the work, and even undertook efforts to match the 'Hawk style' as he crafted the to-code railing for the deck. His workmanship is excellent,as is his attention to detail.
He and his crew were neat and clean, and left no trace of construction (not even saw dust)!
I am delighted with the final project -- even as shovel it! 
I have only 1 concern is providing this 'rave': I worry that Kevin will become so busy I won't be able to get him to complete more projects for me! I've already got 3 more projects in mind and really look forward to working with Kevin again.

Kevin was responsive, helpful, creative with fixes, and in contact frequently. He followed through completely and was a pleasure with whom to work. He's someone to count upon with timing and excellent carpentry skills. We are delighted with his work and recommend him highly.

Our challenges stemmed from having an old, twisted and tilted house that has had multiple carpenters through out its 170 year history,. Every wall provided fresh surprises when opened. 
Kevin was able to roll with the punches and keep the project moving. We were able to finish on time and within our budget. 
I was very happy with his attention to detail and the finished product. Kevin listened to our input. He checked in with us through out the project and made us feel a constant part of the process.

Did the most recent flooring installation while we were away for the Labor Day weekend.  When we got back, it was all set.  This is the third time we used him.  Previously, he installed flooring in our hallway, and constructed a bike closet addition to the outside of our home.  Kevin Benedict's work and that of his assistants is outstanding and professional, and his pricing is reasonable, especially since he allows us to purchase our materials directly, avoiding any contractor markups.

Everything has been fine. He's probably the most responsive guy in Vermont and the quality of work is excellent.
