"Alex came prepared with paper and tape to cover the floors. He covered the furniture with plastic. His crew and him quickly prepared the rooms for painting, masking the areas. The finished the project within a day. They even repaired some areas at no cost. The painting job for the most part was good however there were some areas where you could see the prior paint. These areas were around the sill, door frames, close to the baseboard. I asked Alex to paint some of the areas which he did but seemed annoyed. There were more areas as such that I found that I will have to touch up myself. Overall they were good and reasonable."

You can paint over existing wallpaper if you select wallpaper that is designed to be paintable. This type of paper is meant to add texture to walls. Alternatively, if you have old wallpaper you’d like to cover up, you can often paint over that instead of removing it. However, it needs to be smooth, damage-free, and non-textured. Otherwise, any bumps, tears, and texture will show through the paint.

No, you don’t always have to remove old wallpaper before applying a new layer. However, you should pull off the existing wallpaper if it’s cracked, peeling, or in poor condition. We’d also recommend against putting wallpaper over textured or dark-colored wallpaper because the old layer may be visible through the new one. It’s best to reserve peel-and-stick wallpaper for bedrooms, living rooms, and other rooms with lower humidity levels. Not only does this minimize the risk of mold growth, but it also keeps the wallpaper from bubbling or peeling.
