"They did a good job on the floors for a reasonable price. The molding is the only problem I had with them. The doors would not close after installation. They claim it was not their fault but considering that was the only change that happened around the doors (and the doors opened/closed fine for several years prior). Regardless, they said they would fix it but never ended up following through with it. I would consider working with them again but probably not any molding work.show more

"I would like to have given them a higher rating – but I’ll explain why I didn’t. First, Robert Hall & Staff are wonderful and easy to work with. The first hardwood floor we picked did not match with our existing hardwood floor. Robert took the hardwood floor back and allowed us to pick another one. The second hardwood floor matched perfectly. I ask Robert BEFORE we started if the new hardwood floor would line up with our existing hardwood floors (in the dining room & foyer). He said yes. It took 2 ½ days to complete the job. When Calvin (lead) & Eric came I asked them the same question, yes the floors would line up. They started in the living room which would line up with the dining room, it did. The 2nd day a new crew came. I immediately called Robert; he assured me that Derrick (lead) would do a good job. I asked Derrick about lining up with the existing hardwood floor. He said yes. Derrick is a very good, competent, careful, happy, and easy to work with worker. I had appointments this day and left. When I returned most of the floor had been laid. I was shocked to see that the foyer (which is the first thing people see when they come in) DID NOT line up with the existing hardwood floor. I asked Derrick why & was given an excuse. At that time most of the hardwood floor is down & there was no way of fixing this without pulling up most of the floor. We paid a lot for the hardwood floor. It looks good, but we are disappointed that it doesn’t line with the existing foyer hardwood floors. When the sun shines on the floor it is very noticeable and it still upsets us. I wish there was an easy solution. Another flaw, no one from the company called after the installation to see how we liked the floor. Which is not good customer service. Having said all this, the company is good to work with, the employees are good. Our suggestion would be if you are getting hardwood floors that need to line up with existing hardwood floors you check it BEFORE they permanently attach it.show more

"Working with Charm City Home Improvement, and in particular Todd, could not have gone better and I am extremely grateful that I chose them. I had three quotes from different contractors and his quote was very reasonable. However I chose him because out of the three, he was the only one that didn't make a big deal about the vision I had for my kitchen. The other two made it a huge deal to move certain pipes around and move the appliances around in the kitchen whereas Todd knew exactly what I wanted and said he could do it without any problems. He then did just that and it turned out great and always came up with great solutions for certain things I was looking for (for example, he knew I wanted to hide my washer/dryer that is in my kitchen, so he was able to install sliding doors to hide it). <br /> Charm City Home Improvement was extremely efficient and did all the projects quickly for me. Everything was done on time and there were never any gaps in construction since he knew I wanted to move into my condo as soon as possible. Todd communicated with me very well and everything he did came out even better than I imagined. When he ran into a certain problem, he would call me and give me the options, and then he would give me his suggestion on what to do. He was also very patient with me when I came up with new things for him to do. He would never complain and have them done the next day until I was completely satisfied with everything in my condo. <br /> Also, the workers noticed my ceiling was a little damp and thought it may be from my A/C unit (which in fact it was). After that, I could tell Todd really cared about my entire condo with the fact that he noticed that and told me I needed to call a HVAC company. Then he patched the ceiling and repainted it for me. <br /> Charm City Home Improvement did a wonderful job and did everything I asked. "We have owned our home for over 30 years, and I've never worked with a better firm than WISA. The owner, Daoud, is a fine person and is dedicated to delivering quality work and excellent customer service. He has a very talented team, who are professional and wonderful to work with. When he bid the job, he arrived with a project manager and designer, who problem solved options and costs as I told them what we wanted. The designer is very talented and worked with us through the project. When the pandemic came, and we wanted to postpone starting, we had no pressure at all to start until we were comfortable -- which ended up being a year later. Daoud held to the original estimate, which he didn't have to, even though the cost of wood had skyrocketed. The workers were excellent, on time every day, polite and cleaned up, leaving things organized. We made additional requests as the project progressed (new sump pump, additional electrical updating, more cabinets for example) and they gave us estimates for each, followed by a change order we would agree to. Communication was excellent throughout. WISA is priced very fairly, but they weren't the cheapest. We had made the mistake before going with the cheapest bid. "The mark of a really good company is not just the product they deliver, but how they handle any bumps in the road along the way. Hannah, my designer, did a great job right from the start, when we had to pry open the old closet door with a hammer and chisel. Yes, it was a mess. She was able to design a functional closet the met all of our storage requirements in spite of some, uh, “treasures” that filled the existing space and had to go. However, there was a problem and delay with the order. This was particularly critical due to an approaching surgery — we needed the space to be finished ASAP. CEO Scott called me and explained that there were doing everything possible; the shipment was prioritized. It arrived on time, and a crew stayed late to ensure that the project could be completed the next day. Scott also gave me a significant discount in compensation for the additional wait. The moral of the story is that the mark of an exceptional company is not always just the product — it is the honesty and fairness of the people running it.
