"Todd Anderson was the technician who came out to fix my homes blockage, he was the second technician who came out, but the only technician who did anything... I don t want to mention the other companies name, but they were a bunch of worthless people who called themselves plumbers. They did nothing to help me and kept saying that I should call the office to have someone else come out. Todd Anderson from A-1 plumbing came out and he was ready to work. He worked alone unlike the other company that had two lazy people show up. A-1 s technician came identified my issue and quickly removed my toilet because I had a main line clog. Mr Anderson was very professional, courteous and neat, he covered my floors so as not to make a mess and he cleared my drainage problems. After cleaning up before leaving Mr Anderson made sure that I was satisfied with the job that he had just done. If A-1 plumbers has to come out to your home I will definitely recommend their professional services."

"I want to thank my WestShore team of workers: designer Erica, team Larry, Kevin and Anthony that installed my beautiful walk in shower. They removed the ugly 40 year old shower to inside the walls and plumbing. I had complete peace of mind knowing that if they found any hidden surprises like moisture damage or plumbing problem that would be fixed and included in the contract price. So, no additional cost would be added. The work was outstanding. Work started at 8am and was completed by 6:45pm, and that included complete clean up and removal of old shower. A master plumber even showed up to inspect the plumbing upgrade...all included. After the contract was signed, a appointment for installation was secured for a few day later, and all work was completed in ONE DAY. I will be using WestShoreBath again when ready to replace our second bathroom."

"Professional, customer-service oriented, answered questions and explained the problem clearly, gave us several options for the plumbing repair -- Jammal Lindsey was the plumbing technician who came to diagnose the problem and give us the options. This review is for that phase of the project."

"This company contacted me shortly after I submitted my request. However, they do not perform the type of work I needed. The representative was very helpful. She found out what type of company I needed to hire and the type of drain I needed to have installed to resolve my problem. That advice deserved my five star rating."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can put a bathroom in a bump-out. Some homeowners build a bump-out to enhance their bathrooms with new sinks, vanities, tubs, showers, or linen closets. Depending on the layout of your bathroom and what you’re adding to it, you may need to install new plumbing or reroute your existing plumbing lines.

The first step in lowering costs due to damage is keeping an eye out for potential leaks, a common problem new homeowners may notice. That’s because the sooner you identify a water issue, the smaller its impact on drywall, flooring, and fixtures. Low water pressure, water on the floor, loose tiles, a change in water color, or slow drains are signs of a potential leak.

Toilet augers are hand-held drain snakes. Most of them come with 3 to 6 feet of cleaning cable and a curved, plastic elbow sleeve to protect your toilet bowl. If your clog does not go beyond the toilet’s wax seal, a 3-foot auger would be sufficient. Otherwise, you may need a 6-foot auger to unclog the drain.

No, your toilet tank should not empty completely when you flush. Although the water level will dip a lot after you flush, it shouldn’t be totally empty. If your tank is empty, you might have issues with your fill valve, float ball, or toilet trip lever. You should check all of your toilet parts to ensure they’re working correctly and make any necessary adjustments.

Common problems include leaks, clogs, and low water pressure. Regular maintenance prevents major disruptions.
