"I cannot say enough good things about Mr. Fix-It.  My dealings with Mr. Fix-It were outstanding from the beginning to the end.  It all started with a sales associate professionally, courteously and patiently giving us our options and th price of the job.  After making our choices, the workmen professionally, kindly and courteosly did the work.  They were a delight in our home. We were sorry to see them leave upon completion of their work.

We are now enjoying the most beautiful, user and elder friendly bathrooms that anyone could hope to have.    The work that was done on the job was impecable.  We could not have expected anymore than what we got from anyone."

"I hate paying others to do work that I can do, but we were rushed & I am not fast and have been known to have to redo plumbing. Mom was no longer able to lift self over tub for tub shower & won't let me help & give my wife incredible resistance, so mom's hygiene was getting bad. My wife talked me into letting someone else do it & of the 4 companies we interviewed, Kevin at Bath Planet impressed us the most, gave us the best price by far, best start time & best assurance of a 1-day job. We are very happy with Bath Planet."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

To drain a broken toilet, place towels or plastic sheeting around the base in case of splashing or overflowing. Next, shut off the toilet’s water supply, usually via a valve on the wall behind the toilet. Begin flushing the handle to remove as much water as possible from the tank and the bowl. Don’t flush the toilet if it’s clogged, though. From there, use a large sponge to soak up any remaining water and wring it over a bucket.

Yes, drains are one common entry point for water bugs. However, water bugs may enter your home through various locations including doors, windows, pipes, and vents. Water bugs are drawn to the dark and moist atmosphere drains provide, and can easily find their way into your home through sewer drain pipes. You can stop water bugs from entering through drains by regularly cleaning your drains and repairing faulty drainage systems.

If you go to turn it counterclockwise and it won’t turn anymore, it’s open. Like most other valves, you should be able to turn a radiator valve counterclockwise (to the left) to open it and clockwise (right) to close it. To close a radiator valve, turn it clockwise until you meet some resistance and can’t turn anymore, but do so carefully to avoid breaking the valve.

Showers frequently experience leaks, most commonly originating from either the faucet or a malfunctioning shower drain. Detecting a leaky faucet is straightforward—listen for the constant sound of dripping water, even after you believe you've fully closed the faucet. In the case of a shower drain issue, it is often characterized by water seeping from the base, usually caused by a deteriorated seal between the shower wall and the shower tray.

You can often identify a freeze-proof faucet by its structure. Unlike a traditional spigot, a freeze-proof one will include a long supply pipe that extends into your home and connects several inches back to your water supply. Many freeze-proof models also have an extra valve on top of the exterior of the spigot, which is the anti-siphon feature that protects against water backflow.
