"Terrence Bridget can do big jobs and little jobs, and I had him in for a smaller job to replace 4 toilets and his overall knowledge fixed a noise issue in my pipes with just the fact that he has a lot of life and plumbing pexperience.I would highly recommend him. He's also got a big excavator that can dig up your whole front yard."

"I recently bought a house that came with TWO constantly running toilets. I called DB's and they made scheduling an appointment quick and easy. Their appointment times were very flexible, which I appreciated. Shane was amazing! He explained what the issue was in easy to understand language and provided me different options. I never felt pressured to choose the most expensive option. The repairs were done quickly, with Shane keeping me updated every step of the way. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional. He even patiently answered all of my non toilet-related plumbing questions. I am relieved to not have two toilets running all day and night and the service came with a warranty in case I run in to any problems. I loved working with this company every step of the way. Everyone I interacted with provided top notch customer service. This is now my go-to company for any plumbing needs, and I'm recommending them to all of my friends and family."

Customers say: Quick response

"We hired Sam for dry wall repair after a pipe burst and water valve replacement. Since we had him there he also replaced a shower drain and did our kitchen backsplash. He was professional and always on time. Prices are very fair. He did great work on all projects. Will definitely use him again."

"Excellent job! They worked very hard to get our job finished on time (we ordered our shower tile later than anticipated) and it was finished on time! They took great care in keeping our hallways and stairs clean, you almost couldn't tell they had been there. Our new bathroom is beautiful!"

Toilets questions, answered by experts

When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.

On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.

To test for toilet leaks, use water coloring in the water tank and see if the water slips into the bowl from the tank. This test will indicate if there’s a problem with the flapper or refill tube. You can also put water coloring in the bowl of the toilet to see if there is a leak there. If there is, you should see the colored water on the outside of the toilet bowl or on the floor.

Whether wall-mounted or floor-mounted toilets are better comes down to personal preference.

Overall, standard floor-mount toilets are less expensive to purchase and install, but they don’t offer the streamlined, modern appearance and adjustable height of wall-hung toilets. Ease of cleaning should also be considered, as wall-hung toilets are easier to clean than standard models.

The average cost to replace a toilet fill valve is around $100, and prices range from $50 up to $150, depending on your location, the experience of the plumber, and how accessible your toilet is. In most cases, a professional plumber can replace your fill valve in under an hour, although it might take longer if they also need to fix or replace other components at the same time.

Yes, you can have a toilet without a septic tank. However, it will have to be a composting toilet. Composting toilets work similarly to aerobic septic systems in that the waste, which sits in a separate compartment below the toilet itself, is slowly broken down by aerobic bacteria. These toilets typically have a vent to get rid of harmful gasses with a fan, which requires a battery. You will have to dispose of waste in the toilet manually every three weeks to every three months, depending on how many people are using the toilet.
