"Appleton Campbell just did a complicated 2-day gas furnace/AC unit installation attached our home. It was, probably, the most professional and well-handled vendor experience I have ever had, particularly with some complications that occurred due to things found after the old system was removed. From the sales process to the pre-project staff to the office staff who alerted me each time the crew was heading to my home, to the on-site crew of Mike W., Danny R. and Jake A., the experience was A+. Even when the one issue was presented, they came up with a solution and I remained confident they would. They were extremely clean and neat, during and after they were done. I did getting three bids for this and they were slightly higher than the others, but I felt more comfortable and frankly, I believe I got my moneys worth as they also had to fabricate and redo a complicated return and vent line, and they also moved the gas line, refrigerant line and other conduits/poles/switches to a more convenient area than with my prior (similar but older) system. In short, I felt like the value was there. They also included a Home Savings Agreement for one year and left me with a consolidated notebook of all relevant documents. Cheapest is not always better, and with all they did, the pricing was very, very close. I've known AC for years in the community, but only used them on a couple of occasions. I've become a huge fan and will use them again (I have other systems!)."

"Fox Trail Electric provided us with excellent professional diagnostics and service. Our pool pump disconnect blew when we opened our pool, and we contacted three companies for repair estimates. Not only was Fox Trail the best estimate, Brendan and Moses very quickly found the source of the problems that the other two companies missed; this gave us immediate confidence in their capabilities. They arrived just before the appointment time for the repair and quickly got to work. They encountered and diagnosed a quirk with the pool equipment being wired from separate meter services (main house and outbuilding) and installed the correct GFCI breaker for the wiring to the pool heater, which our home warranty company failed to resolve. They installed a mounting post and weather-resistant timer and disconnect for the pool pump and organized and buried the previously messy, tangled, above-ground equipment ground wires that are no longer a tripping hazard. Brendan and Moses worked very well together and were very neat - nothing out of place when they left. Top-notch problem-solving, and we will be calling them again for other work. "I had a very good experience with Reddick & Sons from beginning to end. I contacted them via Angie's List about a quote for recessed lighting and they got back to me right away. They sent a representative out to see the work we wanted done. We wanted recessed lights put up in 3 rooms. I initially told them that I wanted 4 lights in each room. However, when the representative came out, he told my husband that we really only needed 2 lights rather than 4 in two of the rooms. I appreciate the fact that they made a recommendation that saved us some money, even though it meant they would not make as much on the job! The person who came to do the job showed up on time, was friendly and professional. I showed him the rooms and he got straight to work. He did a great job. We were very pleased with the final product. I would not hesitate to call on this company again."

"Jim arrived right on time.  He immediately commented on the difficulty of doing the project.  He told me that he would have to make a lot of holes in the dry wall (on the ceiling).  We went to the basement to see if the work could be done there easier.  He took one of the current recessed lighting fixtures out and determined that he would have to make not just four holes for the lights but extra holes as our home's structure did not make the addition of new lighting easy.  We went back upstairs to reconsider the room that currently has no overhead lighting.  He said he'd have cut some holes before he would know exactly how difficult it would be but that was not the problem....I just needed to understand that the ceiling (and one hole in the wall) would then need to be fixed.  The company does have a handyman division but Jim didn't know anymore about it other than they provided free estimates.
I phoned Walls Electrical Services and got Brian.  He politely told me that generally the cost is about $250 a hole.  I couldn't believe it!  Brian then said that it might not that much in total but whatever it was, the cost would begin at $250.  Jim told me that he was going to have to make a number of cuts and it would be "messy" - which I took to mean he didn't know how many cuts it would be and that he would have to cut a hole thru each tressel (I think that is it - they are the studs in the ceiling) to wire one light to the other.  With that on my mind, I asked Brian if I could cancel the job.  He said I could but it would cost me a fee for Jim coming out.  I asked how much.  He quoted a price he said was his commercial price, then asked when Jim had arrived (he had been in my home for less than an hour

"Rorer's home improvement painted two interior rooms and repaired some damaged wood on the outside of my house. They were very reasonably priced. They did a good job on the painting inside and the outside wood repair/paint match on a garage door. The only issue I had was that they did not match up the rubber trim around the garage door and left a gap in it. I would use them again for standard jobs because overall, the price was very good and everything else was fine."

"The provider showed up on time and prepared.  There were some issues with the internal wiring of my house (1930s construction) that complicated installation.  He informed me of my two options -- one was to have the fan installed, but it could not be controlled by the wall switch, or the other was to rewire the wall switch and the wiring to the fan to allow the fan to be controlled by the wall switch -- at a substantial cost.  I liked that he was honest with my about my options rather than merely stating it would cost me extra to install the fan, given the age/condition of the wiring.
