"We hired LUX to repair the foundation on our detached garage. Adam's crew arrived early Monday morning. They were pleasant and professional - really nice people. They worked steadily all day. They arrived early Tuesday morning, and waited for the county inspector to arrive. Once the inspection was complete, they promptly completed the work. We would definitely recommend LUX."

"NV's rep, Bruce Finley, was very patient. He initially bid with the standard black corrugated plastic pipe. When I told him that I wanted to instead use white PVC because it would not crush, he pointed out that it would cost more and he didn't think it was worth the extra money, but if that's what I wanted he would modify the estimate, which he did. I had two other estimates from other well-known companies, which had slightly different approaches that cost more money. After thinking about what I should do (and soliciting opinions from friends) for a year, I chose NV. They saved money by having the pipe drain to a flower bed in the side yard, instead of digging all the way to the street, which would have ruined some of my trees and shrubs. The crew did a beautiful job - the back patio with the French drain around the perimeter looks great. We've had a few storms, although nothing horrendous, and so far so good with the drainage."

"Very professional! The two people that did the concrete raising were very helpful. Big shout out to Brian and Austin out of the Bristow location. Pricy, but foundation work is sometimes unavoidable."

"Good people to work with, professional in every way. Normally when we received 2" of rain water would start entering the basement. When we receive 3" the basement floor would be covered. Two days after installing their system our area received 8.5" of rain and our basement remained dry, not a drop got in the house. These guys know what they are doing."

"I recently had NVWaterproofing.com lift and repair my driveway and walkway, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, their team was professional, courteous, and detail-oriented. Zach, Chris, and Oscar were instrumental in delivering a flawless finish—they showed up on time, explained each step, and worked efficiently without cutting corners. The scheduling team also deserves a shout-out for making the whole process seamless and accommodating my busy calendar. If you need any waterproofing work, I highly recommend NVWaterproofing.com—they truly go above and beyond!"

"As you can see from the list above, the property was in poor condition when acquired.  It was actually much worse than the inspections revealed, as much of the damage could only be determined once the work had begun.  For example, there were many parts where the siding was covering holes (i.e. no plywood or tyvek behind it); the roof damage was far more extensive than could be seen; many walls in the additions to the house were not properly framed; the sub-floor on one addition was rotted, and the joists were under-size; the beam supporting the garage apartment was under-size.
Although the house looked nice/had many nice features, it became evident that the work (additions and remodeling of the original house) had not been done by skilled or knowledgeable professionals, and had further deteriorated due to neglect and the weather.
We closed on the property in mid-December and had a very tight schedule to meet for moving in.
Mike Puckett and crew worked *through the Holidays* to ensure we met our schedule.  Throughout the process, he kept us well informed.  Whenever a new "surprise" came up (like the rotted subfloor) he made sure that we were aware of all our options.  I know enough about construction to understand that the cost quoted and options given were very honest.  I felt we received professional advice and first-rate work.  No up-sell/hard-sell/phony "problems" with Mike
Here's what we think about Mike Puckett Contracting... after the repair/renovation work is complete, we'll have more work we want done (an additional garage, etc.) - we are not even going to shop this work around: it's going to Mike Puckett

"When we were looking at contractors for our project, we met five contractors and received five estimates.  There were a couple places where Suncrest really stood out.  First, they were the only contractor to provide a detailed estimate that allowed us to see how much each item would cost.  This made it easy for us to determine what things we could do ourselves and what was worth getting their help with.  Second, they were the only contractor to get ALL details of the project right in the estimate.  A lot of other contractors gave us estimates for items never discussed and failed to provide estimates for crucial items.  Third, when we did a walk through with John (Suncrest Builders President), we mentioned we wanted the renovated space to have hardwood floors.  Every other contractor said, "Yes, we can give you hardwood floors".  John was the only one to say, "Why do you want hardwood floors?  You have a concrete slab and hardwood floors wouldn't be the best choice."  We appreciated that he didn't just tell us what we wanted to hear, but instead provided solid advice.

Through out the project,  Suncrest hired three separate sub-contractors: demolition, concrete, and flooring.  All the subcontractors they used were very clean, efficient, hardworking and professional.  For the demo and concrete, there seemed to be a significant delay in getting the subcontractors to our house.  The demo crew showed up 4 days later than planned.  The concrete crew showed up 3-4 weeks after planned.  The first two tasks of our project were demo and concrete, so at the beginning there were a few weeks where our house was sitting with no work being done.

Suncrest performed the framing, plumbing, electrical, drywall, and trim installation with their own staff. Everyone was extremely skilled, detailed orientated, and respectful.  There weren't as many delays to the project when Suncrest's employees were scheduled to work on our house.  Any delays were due to the nature of the project and not because they didn't show up.

Through out the project, we had very little difficulty getting ahold of John or Bryan (our Project Manager).  If we didn't get ahold of them the first time, 95% of the time they returned our calls/emails within 24 hours.  This was more than enough communication to make sure we could have our questions answered and feel comfortable with how the project was progressing.

During our project, there were a couple areas where Suncrest really shined.  First, we redid the floors in our kitchen.  The original floors were tile.  The tile needed to be removed and all the grout and tile adhesive had to be removed.  Due to the unexpected difficulty of removing larger pieces of grout, the tile removal took longer than expected, which meant the new floor installation was also delayed.  After Suncrest realized how difficult the tile was to remove, they had everyone at our house making sure EVERYTHING was ready so the flooring installation wasn't delayed any further.  Bryan (Project Manager) was on his hands and knees scraping off the grout vigorously.  Second, we had Suncrest install a light fixture on our home's exterior.  After the first attempt, we were not satisfied with the way the light was installed.  We called Bryan to have him take a look.  He also agreed that it was not acceptable.  The same day, he was out there fixing the light himself until we were satisfied.  By the time he was done, it couldn't have looked more perfect.  In both of these situations, Suncrest showed they will do what it takes to get the job done and will listen to feedback to make sure the end result is perfect for their client.

Overall, our experience with Suncrest was excellent.  We had little difficulty in getting ahold of them when we had questions.  They addressed any concerns we had.  The end product was exactly what we asked for and looks amazing.  There were some delays, but if you look at reviews for other contractors on Angie's List, you'll see that it's incredibly common.  After this experience, I look forward to working with Suncrest again on our future home renovations.

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

Mudjacking is suitable for sidewalks, driveways, patios, and nearly all exterior flat structures. However, it may not suit severely damaged or heavily cracked areas.

Polyjacking can be a permanent solution to sunken concrete if you also address the underlying issue—like poor drainage—at the same time. The polyurethane material itself can last as long as or even outlast the concrete you’re lifting it with. Your sunken concrete issue will likely return if you don’t couple polyjacking with proper drainage to prevent future soil movement and sinking.

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.

Mudjacking is your best bet for leveling concrete on a tighter budget. It’s less expensive than foam or grout mixture. For smaller, surface-level issues, you could also use a self-leveling compound, which creates an even surface over existing concrete—it’s a budget-friendly option suitable for DIY enthusiasts.

Mudjacking can be an expensive foundation repair process, but in many cases, it’s well worth the investment. This is especially true if you’re lifting a portion of sunken foundation slab back into place. In that case, mudjacking can help avoid major structural damage and even home collapse by restoring the integrity of your structure with minimally invasive procedures. Mudjacking a concrete patio, walkway, or sidewalk can be worthwhile because it removes tripping hazards and makes your outdoor area more aesthetically appealing.
