"We hired LUX to repair the foundation on our detached garage. Adam's crew arrived early Monday morning. They were pleasant and professional - really nice people. They worked steadily all day. They arrived early Tuesday morning, and waited for the county inspector to arrive. Once the inspection was complete, they promptly completed the work. We would definitely recommend LUX."

"NV's rep, Bruce Finley, was very patient. He initially bid with the standard black corrugated plastic pipe. When I told him that I wanted to instead use white PVC because it would not crush, he pointed out that it would cost more and he didn't think it was worth the extra money, but if that's what I wanted he would modify the estimate, which he did. I had two other estimates from other well-known companies, which had slightly different approaches that cost more money. After thinking about what I should do (and soliciting opinions from friends) for a year, I chose NV. They saved money by having the pipe drain to a flower bed in the side yard, instead of digging all the way to the street, which would have ruined some of my trees and shrubs. The crew did a beautiful job - the back patio with the French drain around the perimeter looks great. We've had a few storms, although nothing horrendous, and so far so good with the drainage."

"Very professional! The two people that did the concrete raising were very helpful. Big shout out to Brian and Austin out of the Bristow location. Pricy, but foundation work is sometimes unavoidable."

"Good people to work with, professional in every way. Normally when we received 2" of rain water would start entering the basement. When we receive 3" the basement floor would be covered. Two days after installing their system our area received 8.5" of rain and our basement remained dry, not a drop got in the house. These guys know what they are doing."

From start to finish, their team was professional, courteous, and detail-oriented. Zach, Chris, and Oscar were instrumental in delivering a flawless finish—they showed up on time, explained each step, and worked efficiently without cutting corners. "I had standing water in my backyard and also water leaked in the basement. John came up with good solution for yard drainage, it took away water from the house. Also did a great job on basement waterproofing. I am so happy that I don't need to be worried anymore when it rains. Definitely recommend! Crew was very kind and highly professional from the beginning till the end, all work was done on time as was agreed. Great job guys!"

"Crane and Associates came in to perform concrete leveling and filling at my sports performance facility. They did a tremendous job, going above and beyond expectations. They filled all cracks and holes that were in the existing flooring and made the flooring serviceable to lay down the turf and rubber flooring that we needed at our facility. I highly recommend Crane and Associates and will hire again when needed. Thank you for all of your hard work!"

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.

Mudjacking is usually reserved for light-duty slabs, like patios, driveways, and sidewalks. However, it can be an effective way to lift garage slabs and concrete around the perimeter of the home, which could harm your foundation if it’s not done properly. The risk of damage is why having a professional mudjacking company carry out the work is important. This type of slab or foundation repair is relatively inexpensive, especially if you consider that a DIY job requires that you pay to rent the necessary equipment.

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.

Mudjacking is suitable for sidewalks, driveways, patios, and nearly all exterior flat structures. However, it may not suit severely damaged or heavily cracked areas.
