Very disappointed with Greystone Masonry. We are not pleased with our stamped concrete patio at all. First, it was uneven. Instead of starting over, they cut the uneven portion out and re-poured only the affected section, which was about 1/4 of the patio. This resulted in uneven coloring. Again, instead of re-pouring, they sent someone out twice to reseal the patio, telling us it would even out the color. It didn't. As a result, there is so much sealant on the patio that now it has bubbles that have erupted all over the patio. I've contacted the store via phone and e-mail. No response from either. Terrible customer service. I would NOT recommend.

This last summer Luisa from Greystone came over to help my wife an i decide what kind of patio for our new backyard pool. WOW, did she do a magnificent job, from the design, integration to the pool layout and even recommendation of lighting and landscape. Today I look out my back windows and see a resort.

My experience with Greystone was outstanding from start to finish. They installed a large stamped concrete patio with a block retaining wall and widened my driveway. Both jobs turned out fantastic. The driveway took extra coordination with VDOT, and Greystone worked with the VDOT representative and took care of everything. The crews were careful with my yard and brought plywood to minimize the impact of the heavy equipment and materials. When the driveway was installed they took extra care to cover it and protect it from the weather. A separate crew came after each job to clean up, both did an outstanding job. On both projects one of the owners stopped by to ensure things were going smoothly. My experience with the estimate, design, scheduling and installation and with everyone I dealt with at Greystone was outstanding. I'd use them again on any concrete or block project.

The price was the competitive and the cheapest I found. We've gotten tons of compliments. They had a great price, were one time and did a great job. The work took two days. The communication was good.

Front door stuck, pattern crooked, stamping areas look stained because they did not do the concrete right before the color was added. Physically went down there twice to get work fixed, called several times and no call back. Today, finally after starting in August, one young lady, Carly, called us back and had someone out to fix door and said she will have concrete fixed by end of week-hopefully this is true.

Definitely not knowledgable about installing natural gas firepit even though they claimed to be. This lack of knowledge affected the entire project. I would definitely not recommend this company. Was extremely disappointed. We contracted with this company in April and they did not complete the project until August. Weather was not a factor in the delays either. It was mostly due to their lack of knowledge regarding the gas firepit.

The negative. Is they are good and they don't think they need to provide good customer service. Customer service is horrible. Once the job is completed they are done with you. Don't expect for them to check to see if everything is fine and don't bother calling them because they are non-responsive. Follow up work is virtually impossible to nonexistent. They make promises and never show up. I paid nearly $20,000 for the work, but I cannot get them to follow up with resealing. That's the only downside. I warn customers to expect poor customer service after the work is completed and final payment is made. I referred them to other customers and it's an equal opportunity--everyone is treated poorly when it's time for follow up. At least they are consistently treating everyone the same--poorly.

Please do not hire Greystone Masonry in Stafford. We hired Greystone last May to work on our patio and they were very attentive and nice before payment but after I made the final payment it was a different story. I took some pictures and sent it to them about some holes and cracks on the stone work in June of 2016 and they finally replied May of 2017!! I called them numerous times and they would always tell me they would come out but wouldn't show up. Finally on May 10th 2017, three of the workers came to my home and looked at the work for less than a minute and told me there’s nothing they could do for me and told me to throw some dirt on it. After I questioned him about throwing dirt on it he kicked some dirt to the hole and said again “throw some dirt on it”. As I showed him more areas he continued to say there is nothing he can do for me and started to leave. I called their office and spoke to the OWNER and explained to him what happened and his words were "ITS NOT MY PROBLEM" over and over again. The owner continued to tell me that his #1 guy sent him some pictures and he believes him and he wasn’t doing anything for me except put some dirt on it and color it. I asked the owner why it took them so long to come and look at the problem and he told me that its not his problem so I just didn’t show up and as we were talking he asked to speak to my husband, someone who would know a little about construction work, what was he trying to imply? We spent around $7000 to get the work done and this is the service I got from Greystone. This is not how small business owners should be conducting themselves and definitely not how they should treat customers. Please do not hire them and give them your hard earned money! They will be nice as can be before they get your money but after they get it it’s another story.

Build as designed. Concrete thickness more then what I expected (6 to 9 inches). Looks like it will last a long time. Very pleased with quality of the patio and the price paid.

We went with Greystone despite a higher price because they preached quality and said they could do exactly what we wanted. We have couple of issue, first the concrete crack within two or three months so I call for repair. They came and epoxy/seal the crack but they said they need to returns to fishing the work but they never return. The biggest issue is that they build patio retaining wall is over the swale so I have issue with erosion. I did not know about the swale but they never mentioned it will be an issue. I have been waiting for them since July. I sent picture and all information they requested.

My husband and I had a large patio with a sitting wall and a walkway installed by Greystone Masonry. From the estimate, meeting with Jody and Carlie to pick finishes, to job completion; everything was handled with respect, professionalism, and courtesy and with a wealth of knowledge for the products that they were offering. The crews that came out were thorough, informative as to where they were with the job, clean and very respectful. We made a lot of changes and requests, but not once were we made to feel like we were causing any issues. Everyone was very accommodating and eager to please. I not only recommend them, but will be using them in the future for driveway and sidewalk upgrades. I trust that they will handle those jobs just a professional as they did our patio. Thank you to the office staff (Mark, Jody and Carly) and to all the crew that did the actual work....we greatly appreciate a job well done and we look forward to enjoying our space for years to come.

TLDR; the work was EVENTUALLY performed adequately only after I served as their unpaid quality assurance person. 2 years later no issues with the patio, stairs or siding work. We chose greystone based on price and job they did with out next door neighbors. Luisa did a fabulous job outlining the new patio to include new steps down to the patio and we were super pleased with the planning experience. We were told a manager always reviews the work prior to calling it complete. We gave them the deposit and scheduled the work. First the work started over a week late, ok no big deal. In one day they ripped out the existing deck and installed the stamped concrete patio. We were super pleased. The next day they came and put down the sealant right before it was about to rain. I called and asked and the person on the phone said "should be fine" call back if there is an issue even though every piece of literature will say rain and sealant is bad. Surprise, there was cloudy spots all over the patio. Had to call and reschedule them to remove that sealant and redo. This happened. Patio gets completed. However i'm left with two holes in the lawn where they have run the new drain pipes. One pretty much at the edge of the patio less than a foot from the patio, the other, RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE GATE. It couldn't have been more in the middle if they tried. I have to begin the process with their phone person to get someone to install the pop up drains which at first were my responsibility??!! but eventually greystone installed after i much complaining. Meanwhile it takes about 3 weeks to get the stair guy to come out and do the steps. We are also waiting on the stair completion to add the missing siding where the deck was. 3 weeks with dogs who are used to going out back to not be able to. Person on the phone says the stair builders are delayed, they have no control over this. Meanwhile the project was supposed to take 10 business days. So to recap, started late, did a good job on the deck removal and initial install, messed up the sealant, left two holes in the yard where rainwater flows up to and out of, 3 weeks to get stairs, still no siding. Eventually the stair person shows up, stairs look great. A few days later siding person comes out does all the siding EXCEPT for under the stairs, that has plywood left open to the environment. REALLY??? Now i have to call and send pictures to get that fixed. Meanwhile they also damaged part of the siding during deck removal. Despite "multiple managers" being onsite throughout the project no one except me notices this and i have to send more pics and complain to get this repaired. which they eventually do...the piece has to be ordered Finally its complete. I attempted to get a discount for the project being late but got none. They refused to acknowledge their phone people were liars or that their crew was incapable of doing something right the first time. Made no effort to make it right and charged me full price. In the end the patio looks fine and was much cheaper than the competition. I don't feel like it would have if i had not had to constantly call and harass them to get them do the job correctly. Aside from the first day of work nothing was performed correctly the first time, it was eventually completed to satisfaction only after much complaining. I will not engage Greystone to do the resealing based on the experiences with them.

Lucia came by to give a estimate. She was very professional and presented me with all the company documents and what to expect. Greystone called when they were coming as agreed to. Crew was there on time. They were very competent and professional. It always helps to have someone supervising the job so no mistakes are made and all goes according to plan. As the project progresses there may have to be some modification to the design like making sure the curves are good and lines are straight where you want them. No problem with that at all. When job was done they cleaned up everything and power washed the all the dust away all the way to the street. I am willing to pay a little more for a project if things go as smoothly as this one did.
Thank you Greystone for a beautiful walk that my guests and I can enjoy for many years to come.

From the very get go, Greystone showed up on time and completed the job as promised. They started at 10 AM and by 4PM I could not believe that they got that much done. We are talking in 2 days, they had to clear the back yard area and take up sod, prep the patio area and then had it poured. It was an amazing transformation and I have no problems giving them a reference for the work they did. If there is anyone that wants to contact me, I have no problems showing or sending photos of their handiwork.

These guy are great- worth every penny. They worked with us on a layout and design - very flexible and patient. On the day of demo and pour, they showed up with a professional team and the right equipment. They did a great job in minimizing damage to the yard and surrounding areas. The framing was exactly as planned and sidewalk pour was very effiicient- everyone had a job and it was clear that it wasn't their first project. They followed up the next day with a cutting team for seams and then with a cleaning and finishing team. Superb operation, excellent product.
Management and back office team provided excellent customer service at ever phase. They were fuly engaged and responsive.

The stamped concrete patio planning and preparation process went very well. We learned of Greystone from a neighbor who had a patio constructed at their residence very nearby ours. They recommended Greystone and on their recommendation began the process of locating and evaluating their capability to install a patio. All went well: as follows, Sales Rep, with contract acceptance and down payment of 1K. Then a trip to their business location to include stamped concrete pattern and color with an agreement made with the office manager, Carly, on July 15 that concluded with her email showing acceptance and color photos or sketches showing pattern and color scheme. Then about a 30 day wait caused by availability of staff and dry weather as the concrete forms, site prep and pouring of concrete should not be completed if rain is in the forecast.
All of this went very well with a hard working and efficient crew doing a masterful job of doing a good job of protecting our very small lawn access which is shared with a neighbor. They managed to chip a retainer wall of the walk our basement with their power front loader which was eventually repaired by me and Greystone gave me a small price reduction for my effort. I found the problem. They crew was not going to tell me of the damage. Then the problems began. The initial tri color of the concrete went well but...the crew left an over abundance of powered residue on top of the stamped concrete and then sealed over with a shellac like sealer. The result was a gray mud puddle like appearance that in no way looked liked that for which we had contracted. So some days go by with contacting Graystone staff who requested a photo, which we provided and then agreement there was a problem and then waiting for the crew show up. In broken English the crew wanted to know what was the problem? Here is the major disconnect--after dealing with the office staff the crew had no idea what they were supposed to do, in spite of a complete agreement as to color and pattern established weeks before. I explained to the crew as best I could and then the crew removed the shellac like sealer and cleaning which was then washed off, which then killed some of my grass near the edge. Also when cleaning the residue of the mud puddles it wiped out one of the colors. BACK TO SQUARE ONE. Then contacted graystone staff telling them I wanted the color back as contracted. More photos, more time, we were promised the crew would do a sample color prior to completion. In spite of Greystone completing an agreement with color and pattern weeks before, the crew showed up, asked what we wanted, I showed them the color from the Greystone brochure and the crew then recolored the appropriate pattern sections with a color that far from what we had requested. Back to Graystone office staff, more pictures, more time. New crew leader shows up and wants to know what color we wanted. R U KIDDING?
Again showed the crew leader the brochure and initial agreement with Greystone. He commenced to get somewhat close to the original requested color. In the process of pressure washing he broke the top of a very inexpensive patio table, and after I discovered the breakage he was able to replace the table to in a most commendable manner.
Here's my conclusion. The office staff is unable to communicate to the work crews what is to be done. I don't speak Spanish, crews do not speak conversational English. English speaking management refuse to show up at the work site. As I finally told one of the office staff members, this is probably the only stamped concrete work I will ever have done. I don't want to learn trade jargon. I want delivery of the service I have requested per contract specification. Oops almost forgot. At one point the office staff, Carly, accused me of changing the specification. I told her show me! She could not and we went back to reality. So, not a lot of folks in this business, the stamped concrete concept is amazing and if you want it done, be extremely careful with contract specs. Get every thing in writing with colors clearly identified by photographs. NOTE: Greystone does NOT have a color palette. So if you want red, it is best to have a color of red in mind with color swatch clearly identified in the contract specs. It took us almost 90 days for job completion with the two of us worn down with the inablility of Greystone to coordinate between the office and the work crews. There are still grey mud puddle leavings on the stamped patio but we are too worn down to protest further. BE VERY CAREFUL, when dealing with this company. A
