"NV's rep, Bruce Finley, was very patient. He initially bid with the standard black corrugated plastic pipe. When I told him that I wanted to instead use white PVC because it would not crush, he pointed out that it would cost more and he didn't think it was worth the extra money, but if that's what I wanted he would modify the estimate, which he did. I had two other estimates from other well-known companies, which had slightly different approaches that cost more money. After thinking about what I should do (and soliciting opinions from friends) for a year, I chose NV. They saved money by having the pipe drain to a flower bed in the side yard, instead of digging all the way to the street, which would have ruined some of my trees and shrubs. The crew did a beautiful job - the back patio with the French drain around the perimeter looks great. We've had a few storms, although nothing horrendous, and so far so good with the drainage."

"It really wasn't mudjacking but a new type of system to raise concrete that is sinking into the ground. My steps had pulled away from the front porch and was also pushing my sidewalk into the ground. Jason and Matt (i hope ii"m right) came and did a beautiful job. Professional and two hard working young men. they lifted the stairs and filled in the cracks and and now it looks great. Thank you Ogburn Const. I will definitely refer you to anyone i know. "I recently had NVWaterproofing.com lift and repair my driveway and walkway, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, their team was professional, courteous, and detail-oriented. Zach, Chris, and Oscar were instrumental in delivering a flawless finish—they showed up on time, explained each step, and worked efficiently without cutting corners. The scheduling team also deserves a shout-out for making the whole process seamless and accommodating my busy calendar. If you need any waterproofing work, I highly recommend NVWaterproofing.com—they truly go above and beyond!"

"Ogburn office staff (Steven and Danielle) and field staff (Jacob) are very professional and detail oriented. The work crew (Todd and Brian) were very prompt, professional, focused, efficient, and diligent. Having had a bad job done by a cheaper contractor previously, Ogburn Construction came in and did everything properly and correctly for my exposed aggregate concrete driveway, walks, and Portland cement basketball court. Professionally power washed all concrete pavement, removed old wood expansion joints in the driveway, tediously cleaned and sealed all the cracks and joints, and applied top sealer for a beautiful and durable finish."

"We had an amazing experience with Blanco Construction on 11/29/24. We needed outdoor concrete stair repair plus a few additional small jobs. We got a few quotes - Blanco was the only company that explained how and why the damage happened and what we could do to make sure it would not happen again in a way that made complete sense to us. With the freezing temperature coming in and our HOA making us wait a month to hear if we could get the work done, John was easy to contact and communicate with - he worked with us and scheduled promptly as soon as we got approval. On the day, the crew arrived early and worked over 12 hours to get the job done. They worked well into the night to make sure the job was complete and the cement was covered so it could set properly. Their foreman Jose and crew are complete professionals, including making sure not to put the heavy truck in our driveway. They focused completely on the job and cleared up any and all debris when they left even though it was pitch dark. Everyone on the crew went above and beyond and were easy for me and my wife to communicate with in every way. Blanco Construction did an outstanding job and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for excellent concrete work."

"The initial meeting went fine, the man who came out seemed very knowledgeable.  Once they began the work, they finished in a timely manner, although I did notice they hit concrete in one of the locations they were trying to dig.  When I came home after they were done (I had left the final check with my daughter to take care of - mistake), I noticed the 'repairs' to the bricks were extremely sloppy:  completely different color mortar, etc.  There was a lot going on at the moment so I did not contact them right away, and then I procrastinated further since some time had already gone by and this was cosmetic, but when I finally did contact them, I was told their brick person had been fired and they would fix the problem, and he would call back the next day.  He did not call, so I sent pictures a few days later and my husband called a month or two later, but they never contacted us.  Later I found out that they had not submitted the final inspection report to the county by the deadline so things could be properly closed out, but since I did have a copy, I was able to send that in.  By the way, the 'inspection' was based on a review of the 'drive logs.'  Now I have had additional cracks/sticking doors inside and I think there may be a new crack outside (I have not compared yet with my pictures taken earlier to verify it is new.)  I have not yet contacted them about this problem to see if they will respond.

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.

The timeframe is generally a few hours, allowing for immediate use post-hydration, ensuring minimal disruption to surrounding activities.

Mudjacking is usually reserved for light-duty slabs, like patios, driveways, and sidewalks. However, it can be an effective way to lift garage slabs and concrete around the perimeter of the home, which could harm your foundation if it’s not done properly. The risk of damage is why having a professional mudjacking company carry out the work is important. This type of slab or foundation repair is relatively inexpensive, especially if you consider that a DIY job requires that you pay to rent the necessary equipment.

Concrete leveling can last anywhere from five to 10 years or more, and in some cases, it can be a permanent solution. The longevity depends on the method used and whether the underlying cause of the sinking is addressed. For example, mudjacking typically lasts five to 10 years, while polyjacking can last for 20 years or more. It's best to consult a professional for an accurate timeline based on your specific situation and any factors that could cause the issue to recur.

The polyurethane used for polyjacking will expand and cure in 15 to 30 minutes. After that point, your slab will be safe to walk on and even drive on in the case of a sidewalk or concrete driveway. Double-check with your concrete lifting specialist to confirm a curing timeline, as products can differ.
