Elite custom contractors

I will start by telling you that I've been refurbishing my entire house since late 2022, and I've been taking before & after photos of all of my work, dating back to Nov 2022. I've spent over $150,000 on materials from Home Depot, and I saved all of my receipts. That is, all but one receipt- the receipt from Nov 4, 2023, which Jose Flores stole from out of my bag, and I witnessed his thievery. (Note: a manager at Home Depot was able to locate & print my Nov 4th receipt) Anyhow, before I contacted Jose Flores at Elite Custom Contractors, I had already painted the front of my house, my entry-way, the front-side of my house, the siding around my entire porch, and a small portion of the back of my house. I patched, sealed & leveled my driveway, and I patched & repaired a significant portion of siding on both sides of my house. I also painted 5 window frames. On or about Nov 2, 2023, just after I pulled off the last piece of wood (siding) from my roof, I was attacked by a multitude of bees, and I injured my hand. But, because I didn't want to lose time working on my house, I logged onto Angie's List to hire a contractor while I recovered from my injury. I posted an ad for a contractor to simply nail onto my house the underlayment wood, and wood strips, that I had already purchased, cut, and painted. After posting an ad on Angie's List, Jose Flores, the owner of Elite Custom Contractors, contacted and assured me that he was a registered contractor in all areas. But, Jose fabricated so many stories, that, I do not have the time to write everything in this sitting. Nevertheless, I specifically told Jose that I already took lumbar strips off of my house because a previous contractor put cheap wood onto my house, and it wasn't even weather treated. I told Jose that I went to Angie's List only because I wanted to work directly with a contractor, and that I cannot have multiple people at my house because I board dogs. I specifically told Jose that I need both gates to my fence to keep shut. He promised it would only be him and a couple of other guys, and the fence would stay shut. But, Jose lied about everything. He just told me what I wanted to hear until he got paid. The day the job started, we went to Home Depot, and I expected to purchase 12 pieces of lumbar, and 7 gallons of paint, which was plenty. But, when we were at Home Depot, Jose insisted that I buy 37 pieces of wood. I said, "no, I don't need that many". However, Jose was on FaceTime with Aldo- who was at my house with 7 other males- ripping all of the wood off my house. They disregarded all of my requests. Instead, Jose told me how/what I needed for my house. So, now, I had no choice but to buy 37 pieces of lumbar. Because they ruined all of my wood. AND, after I told them not to touch any other piece of wood (even if it appeared to be trash), which I repeatedly stated multiple times, they still removed the pile of wood that I told them not to touch. Jose said he threw it away. But, that too was a lie. Or, rather, it was a cover up for his deceptive actions ... To make a long story short, Jose did not work on anything. He didn't lift a finger, and he's not even a registered contractor. None of the people he brought to my house were registered and/or remotely professional. Actually, nobody spoke English but Jose & Aldo, and they both stole from, lied to me, and maliciously trashed my house with materials that was in the trash can. As for the new materials that I purchased, well, those materials were mysteriously removed by/from Jose. Is that why Jose stole my receipt from Home Depot?? Does he think he'll get away with his thievery if I cannot prove that I purchased all those materials?? Well, I did get my receipt from a manager, at Home Depot, who provided it to me. Jose and his novice staff did everything I told them not to do. Or, rather, they did the total opposite of what I wanted them to do. I hired Elite because I just wanted them to nail onto my house the new, weather treated wood that I purchased, pre-cut, and pre-painted. In fact, I already pulled off of my house the crappy wood, and the cheap wood that previous contractors put onto my house. But, Jose malicously & deceptively directed Aldo Leiva to put back onto my house the cheap wood that I removed from my house. That's right. Instead of nailing onto my house the correct wood, Aldo Leiva put that cheap wood back onto my house. AND, he didn't nail that cheap wood onto my house. Rather, he used screws and sealer to put that wood back onto my house. AND, instead of the correct wood I purchased for my house, these malicious jerks screwed & sealed onto my house the wood I purchased for my fence. Additionally, it is federal law for contractors to provide homeowner's with a specific pamphlet prior to working on their house. (which I will explain later). But, Jose never provided me with this pamphlet, and he probably doesn't even know about it. I bought 11+ gallons of paint, which was more then plenty, but these deceptive boys only used 4 gallons of paint, and they either trashed or stole the other 7 gallons. Because they sure as **** didn't use any paint on my house. They kept both gates open, and one of the dogs I was boarding got out. I didn't get that dog back until the next day. Btw: I can prove every word I am saying. There were hundreds of nails all over my yard, my porch, my roof, my driveway, my entry-way, my staircase, and sidewalk. They did not put back anything that they moved, and I cannot put it back myself because it's too heavy. They didn't paint most of my house. But the small portion that they did paint ... they got paint splatter all over my porch/deck, and every window on my house. They got paint all over my newly sealed driveway, and they broke my glass window. They stupidly painted/stained the silver, electrical box attached to my house- which is owned by the City & County of Fairfax- and they broke the Verizon box that was attached to my house. Aldo Leiva, one of Jose's employees, stepped on my drywall, which caused my entire ceiling to fall down, and all the insulation came with it. Oh, did I mention how Aldo Leiva damaged my fence, ruined 4 pieces of lumbar, and will not return the blade to my electric saw. tbd I purchased almost $2,000 in materials, some of which Jose literally stole from my house, and I paid Jose Flores & Elite Custom Contractors $3,000 for one day's work. But, in that one day, they trashed my entire house, and they cost me over $20,000 to repair all of their damages, and I am being dead serious. I have pictures and video of everything. I hired this contractor to perform multiple jobs only because he told me that he was a registered contractor, and because I got him off of Angie's List. Jose Flores is a malicious human being, and I will have no choice but to file a civil complaint for his putative actions if Angie's List does not resolve this matter.

Jose and his team were very easy to work with and very professional. They did a great job painting and replacing wood rot on my house exterior, staining the deck, and fixing drywall in and painting my garage.

I had such high hopes for this company, and I truly wanted to give them a glowing review. However, I couldn't ignore the impact their actions had on future homeowners, and I felt compelled to share my honest experience. It's difficult for me to express the disappointment I felt when Jose's team carelessly damaged several of my window screens while working on my roof. Initially, Jose seemed genuinely apologetic and assured me that the screens would be replaced once the roof was completed. My mom appreciated his sense of responsbility as a business owner, made dumplings and constantly brought out fruit and water to his crew. Believing in his honesty, I took his words to heart and delivered the payment for the roof work, anticipating the resolution of the screen issue at their earliest convenience. But then, everything changed. Jose repeatedly postponed the screen replacement, extending it to another week, then another month. It felt like a never-ending game of false promises. The frustration grew even more unbearable as he vanished, leaving me in a state of uncertainty. How could I trust that his work would be covered under warranty if he disappeared right after collecting the money? This whole situation has left me feeling stupid and skeptical. I had tried to believe Jose and his team would rectify their mistake. However, their failure to follow through on their commitments has shattered my trust. It's disheartening to witness someone say one thing but not take the necessary actions to fulfill their promises.

Jose was down to earth and up front with me throughout the entire process. He was present the entire day the roof was replaced and it all went exactly as he said it would. He warned me there could be additional charges depending on actual condition of roof and attic fan once they could closely inspect it as the work was being done. There were no extra charges. Also had rotting wood replaced and covered with capping under some of the windows. This went smoothly also. Plus, his price was the best one. Can’t say enough good things about Jose and his team!

It was fine

Jose and his crew are wonderful. He was very easy to work with from the very beginning when I contacted him on a holiday with a leaky roof. He provided a very fair and detailed quote within a couple of days. His crew worked quickly and cleaned up after themselves. Jose was always there to make sure everything was being done correctly. Since I had a leaky ceiling, they repaired and repainted the drywall in my kitchen. You can't even tell where the damage was! I added on some interior painting that I didn't have the energy to finish, and they did an excellent job. I highly recommend Jose and his crew and will use him again for more projects around my house.

Elite Custom Contractors does their job effectively and efficiently. They don't waste time and everything from scheduling free quotes to the actual job completion takes less than a weeks time. Their work is top notch.

The Elite crew were professional, did exceptional work, and the price was reasonable. The owner was on the site and was very particular that the job went well and quality was high.

Very well for several years

We have done many home projects over the years and we have to say working with Jose and his crew was one of the best we have experienced. We initially had them fix a leak from a fireplace vent on the roof which was only 6 years old and they offered suggestions to correct original shortcuts taken around vents at a reasonable price. We were so impressed with their experience and responsiveness on that small project that we asked Jose to bid on our deck project replacing an existing deck and extending it out from 21 ft to 46 ft with a backdrop against an existing hill. We had already solicited 3 other contractors for building the deck but was most impressed with Jose's knowledge for decks. His bid was very competitive and he went out of his way (driving to several different locations) to get the Trex materials that were not readily available in a very tight supply market. The crew (Aldo, Nacio, Manuel, and Rusbel) worked long hours, starting early in the morning and leaving in the evening. They were an experienced team that worked well together. They also creatively worked with us on our changes. We are impressed with their overall quality of the work and extra steps taken to strengthen the deck and steps. We would easily hire Jose and his crew again for any home project.

I’m very satisfied with the job. We replaced the deteriorated asphalt shingles on a bay window roof with a metal roof. Jose punctually arrived at our initial meeting and gave us an estimate considerably lower than his competitors. When we decided to use Elite, we easily set a date for the work and they showed up on time do it. While the job was underway, I suggested one change that Jose accepted without hesitation. The job was done well both in appearance and functionality. I can make the latter point because we’ve had two rains since the work was done. Clean up and haul away were also completely satisfactory. I gave a B instead of an A on professionalism because I think Jose should provide a written estimate and description of the work to be done instead of a verbal agreement and handshake. This omission caused no problem in my case and my comment should not be read as expressing any doubt about Jose’s trustworthiness, but it is a business practice he might consider adopting.

I've used a lot of contractors over the years but this company is the only one I've felt compelled to review. Elite Custom Contractors did an AMAZING job on our house and to top it off they were clean and punctual. I will most definitely used them again.

We hired Elite Custom Contractors to wash our roof, siding, and deck. We had been putting this work off for some time, so it was quite the job. Working with Jose and his crew was a pleasure. He came out the same day that I initially contacted him to provide a bid and scheduled us promptly after we decided to contract him. His crew was friendly, efficient, thorough, and on time. The project took the entire day, and the transformation by the end of the day was remarkable. All of the mold was thoroughly cleaned from our roof and siding. The price charged was extremely fair, and we were very happy with Elite Custom Contractors in every regard.

Jose and his team were awesome. He showed up on time for the estimate, is friendly, was very knowledgeable and helpful about what needed to be done, and was incredibly fair with his pricing. I have a very tall house and I needed all the trim to be re-painted and/or repaired. He and his crew did this all in a day and the result was fantastic and you could see the quality as well. I'd highly recommend working with him and his team and will probably go right to them next time I need anything on the exterior completed.
