"TAG drywall is the standard across the drywall industry. The level of expertise and communication involved is in its own league. After having them repair multiple walls (new installation and level 5 skimming) I have not seen any drywall company match the quality of work given. They are hands down the best I have seen in my 17 years in the trade. Don't believe me then hire them for a job. You'll never look for another drywall specialist again. 10 out of 5 stars. The epitome of an industry standard and example."

"Colosseum Remodeling did exactly what they said they would do and for the price they quoted. We had remodels in our previous homes, but these guys were by far the best. They had great work ethic, they communicated clearly and professionally and they made sure everything was completed to and beyond code. This is the 2nd project they did for us and we will be calling them again."

"Nathan painted my master bedroom and master bathroom and did an excellent job. He also fixed the drywall in my great room. He was very personable and a real pleasure to do business with. His prices were very reasonable. I'll definitely keep him in mind for any future home improvement needs."

"VA Dream Home Services has been an excellent vendor. They responded promptly to my request for a quote and immediately sent an appraisal team. My project was complicated by the fact that a ceiling needed to be removed, plumbing fixed and then the ceiling replaced. The team was very flexible in working around my plumber. Additionally, our home is older and has a textured ceiling throughout, which we wanted to maintain. VA Dream had no issues matching the repair to the rest of the house. They did such a good job, we immediately had them do a drywall replacement for a newly installed walk-in shower. Excellent work, done efficiently by nice people. Very happy."

Drywall questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can hammer a nail into a wall stud. But before you do, it’s important to confirm that you’re actually nailing into a stud—and not wiring, pipes, or ductwork. To check, find a few more studs in the wall, then measure to make sure they’re either 16 or 24 inches apart.

The time it takes for thinset to dry is determined by your room’s ambient temperature and humidity levels. Assuming the average humidity level is around 40% with an average temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit, thinset can dry within 48 hours. Lower temperatures and higher humidity can extend the curing process beyond 72 hours, while high heat and zero humidity can shorten the curing process. However, thinset can crack if it dries too fast.

A post-drywall inspection could uncover many problems that weren’t present during the pre-drywall inspection, including insufficient insulation, missing weather stripping, improperly installed plumbing and lighting fixtures, flooring damage, drywall damage, plumbing leaks, aesthetic issues, and more. Structural problems, which are often expensive to fix and are common reasons to walk away after a home inspection, are easier to see before the drywall goes up, but a post-drywall inspection may highlight minor issues with house settling and foundation problems.

Common causes include water leaks, settling, and impact. Address underlying issues to prevent recurring damage.

You’ll want to inspect your plaster walls for signs of damage before painting. If you notice soft spots, deep cracks, bubbling, or areas where the plaster is crumbling or pulling away from the wall, it likely needs repair. While small hairline cracks are common and likely cosmetic, you should address larger issues before painting to ensure a quality, smooth finish.
