The technician, Scott, showed up right on time (which is typical for SPH&A), extremely courteous (also typical), and did a timely but thorough job of the system checkup. This may be my favorite local business in the Richmond area; I feel I get a tremendous amount of value for the products and services they provide. When we needed our downstairs unit replaced two years ago, I went to great lengths to find the best possible value. During my research, I kept seeing comments about how great Short Pump Heating & Air was, and I have to say, it's all true. When they installed the downstairs unit, I was extremely impressed by the professionalism of the entire team, from the office staff to the technicians to the owner. In fact, I was so impressed that I had them replace the upstairs unit a year later, and didn't think twice about whom to call. As a homeowner, it gives me great peace of mind to have such a reliable organization as SPH&A for something as important as our heating and cooling system. This most recent service may have been a routine maintenance check, but it's great to know they still commit themselves to service excellence for their customers. "I have purchased the top-of-the-line York heat pump system, high intensity filtration ultra violet light, electrostatic air filter and completely removed and installed all of the duct work within the house. I have also taken advantage of their contract program providing many benefits to the home owner not found elsewhere. Their pricing is very fair creating an outstanding value to the customer. All of this work was the result of their many complete evaluations of our home, recommendations with the added benefit of allowing us time to make the choice to correct the problem or wait for a better situation financially. One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning is very unique in determining a problem situation, offering several options including their recommendation, allowing the customer to make the final choice. In our case everything they discovered, options recommended all came to pass involving no pushy sales attitude or environment.
We've also taken advantage of there electrical services as that is a major benefit of having a service contract. The inspections of our home and the defects found in the construction and wiring leading to immediate correction, saved our home from potential disaster.

I write this review only because I am a new Angie's List member, realize the tremendous benefit this site has created for the consumer and realizing One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning was already listed. What I have shared here is rare within the service industry and is very deserving of honorable mention with a strong recommendation to others. I maintain very high standards for the businesses I deal with and when an outstanding business provider is located, I do not hesitate in sharing it for the value and benefit of others to take advantage of their services. I have experienced nothing but professional encounters from purchasing to support with this company for 15+ years. What more can one say?

"Atlantic Heating came out at the scheduled time, and the installers were courteous, professional and kept my house clean.   They had no problem 
installing a new coolant line, even tho another company said it could not be done!   Andrew came out to make sure the job got
started on time and correctly, and checked in several times.   He was available to answer questions, and responded promptly when we needed to move the thermostat after the installation.
They were very creative in relocating the new unit on my hill and built a very nice pad.  
Andrew Cox made this purchase as easy and painless as possible and helped me get a Dominion VA Power rebate as well as
special financing.   When I have to replace my 2nd unit, I will definitely work with him.

"My heat pump had gone on the fritz just before I went out of town on May 20th. As soon as I returned on the 23rd I went about contacting contracting to get prices. I met with Lee, from ARS, on the 24th and agreed to a deal for a Carrier purchased through Home Depot. The installation was started and completed on 5/29. Great to have cool air again and lower electric bills. Would definitely use again but I suspect this unit may outlast me."
